Hairspray's Blowout Bash will take place on Main Street and Taylor Park in Downtown Millburn on Sunday, September 19th from 1:00pm to 5:00pm. Hairspray's Blowout Bash will feature: rides, games, live entertainment, contests, give-a-ways, food, a special appearance from members of the Hairspray cast and more. On Monday, August 30th, New York Theatre Barn will present its monthly showcase for emerging writers and performers at the D-Lounge at the Daryl Roth Theater, which will feature the songs of Jake Brandman as well as a presentation of the new musical Substitute Dreams. Executive Producers for NYTB in the D-Lounge are Laura Brandel and Karen Marshall.

It has only been a few short months since new American musical, ALLEGIANCE, had its first staged reading in Los Angeles, California. Its original stars, Lea Salonga ('Miss Saigon,' 'Flower Drum Song') and George Takei ('Heroes,' 'Star Trek'), accompanied by the musical's creators, new cast members and artistic staff, are now bringing ALLEGIANCE to New York City for its second staged reading on Monday, February 22, 2010.
