Rising young choreographer CLAUDIA SCHREIER will present a program of her works, including three World Premieres, featuring dancers from New York City Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, Dance Theatre of Harlem and more. The program will also feature an original commissioned score by multi-Emmy Award-winning composer JEFF BEAL (House of Cards), performed live by string trio and piano, and the 20-member choir TAPESTRY. One night only, tonight, August 8, 7:30 PM, at the Ailey Citigroup Theater, Ninth Avenue & 55th Street.

Instead of creating the expected for her 50th Anniversary Tour -- a retrospective of her greatest hits -- Twyla Tharp's restless spirit demanded she choreograph two brand new works for her troupe of 13 dancers. The ten-week cross-country celebration, which showcases the two new dances, "Preludes and Fugues" and "Yowzie", opens at the AT&T Performing Arts Center, presented by TITAS, in Dallas on September 18-19 and concludes at Lincoln Center's Koch Theater, November 17-22.

New York is the home of some of the most renowned and exemplary dance companies in the world, such as New York City Ballet and American Ballet Theater. It is quite easy for New York balletomanes to fall into the habit of seeing the same iconic and large-scale works year after year. While there is nothing wrong with seeing particular dancers perform well-known works with their respective companies repeatedly, it is quite refreshing to see some of these New York based dancers perform new works on a much smaller scale.

INTERMEZZO Dance Company, a ballet company founded by American Ballet Theatre soloist Craig Salstein, announces its 2015 season, featuring five World Premiere pieces, running from this weekend, January 17-18, 2015.

Nutcracker: Part I, The Workshop: An immersive, dance-theatre reimagining of the classic ballet, performed in the cavernous Knockdown Center, depicts the life-story of a woman (and dancer) named Clara.

INTERMEZZO Dance Company, a ballet company founded by American Ballet Theatre soloist Craig Salstein, announces its 2015 season, featuring five World Premiere pieces, running from January 17-18, 2015 at Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 7:30pm and Sunday, January 18, 2015 at 2pm at Miller Theatre at Columbia University, 2960 Broadway, New York, NY 10027. Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC) announces the Fall 2014 performance season, which runs September 17 to December 18. The BAC Presents series will feature the World, U.S., and New York Premieres of contemporary theater, dance, music, and multimedia works that have either been commissioned by BAC or created by artists who have been in residence at BAC. The season lineup also includes BAC Space 2014 -- a new initiative of BAC's Residency Program -- which reflects BAC's core mission to support artists at various stages of their artistic development, and expose audiences to innovative, contemporary new work.

The School of American Ballet's Workshop Performance Benefit 2014 on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 celebrated 50 years of these annual performances and raised nearly $860,000 for scholarships and school programs. The evening began with cocktails at 5:30pm in Juilliard's Morse Hall, followed by the presentation of the Mae L. Wien Award for Outstanding Service to Dena Abergel, SAB faculty member and NYCB Children's Ballet Master, and Wien Awards for Outstanding Promise to Lyrica Blankfein, Christopher Grant, Baily Jones, and Addie Tapp. Scroll down for photos from the event!

BalletNext, led by internationally renowned dancer Michele Wiles, returns to the BAM Fisher (Fishman Space ) for a one-night-only benefit performance on Friday, May 9. Following a critically acclaimed season at New York Live Arts in January 2014, the company will present two popular works by Italian choreographer Mauro Bigonzetti and BalletNext's resident choreographer Brian Reeder. Live music by noted pianist Benjamin Laude will accompany the dancers.

BalletNext led by internationally renowned dancer Michele Wiles, will present a highly anticipated season at New York Live Arts, January 14 - 18, featuring three works by acclaimed choreographer and former American Ballet Theatre (ABT) dancer, Brian Reeder. Building on their long-running relationship which began in 2000 while dancing at ABT, Wiles and Reeder have collaborated on a diverse program that includes two premieres, Surmisable Units and Different Homes, as well as Picnic which was created for BalletNext in 2012. Live music will accompany the dancers by the BalletNext Ensemble led by noted Israeli cellist Elad Kabilio and featuring Julliard pianist, Ben Laude.
