The New York Innovative Theatre Foundation, the organization dedicated to celebrating Off-Off-Broadway, is pleased to recognize Charles Busch with the 2011 Innovative Theatre Luminary Award at their benefit CABARETION 2.0!

Producer Daryl Roth announced today that Emily Bergl ("Desperate Housewives"), returning cast members Julie Halston (The Divine Sister) and Ashley Austin Morris ("The Electric Company") and Zuzanna Szadkowski ("Gossip Girl") will join upcoming casts of Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron's hit Off Broadway show Love, Loss, and What I Wore, now in its second smash year at the Westside Theatre (407 West 43 Street).

Last night, May 23, the 2011 Drama Desk Awards Ceremony took place at the Hammerstein Ballroom in Manhattan. The Book of Mormon, Anything Goes, War Horse and The Normal Heart were the night's big winners, with favorites Sutton Foster, Norbert Leo Butz, Bobby Cannavale, Frances McDormand, Laura Benanti, John Larroquette, Brian Bedford and Edie Falco taking home the evening's top performance honors. Primary Stages (Casey Childs, Founder & Executive Producer; Andrew Leynse, Artistic Director; Elliot Fox, Managing Director) launches its 27th season with the World Premiere of the new comedy, Olive and the Bitter Herbs by Charles Busch. Directed by Mark Brokaw, the cast will feature Dan Butler as Trey, Julie Halston as Wendy, Marcia Jean Kurtz as Olive and Richard Masur as Sylva. The role of Robert will be announced shortly.

Blume, Executive Producer of the Drama Desk Awards; Barbara Siegel, chairperson of the Drama Desk Nominating Committee and Randie Levine-Miller, Director of Special Events for the Drama Desk, who has produced the nominations announcement ceremony at the NY Friars Club for the past 15 years.

THE DIVINE SISTER, the hit comedy written by and starring Charles Busch, will play its final performance on Sunday, May 1 at the SoHo Playhouse (15 Vandam Street). The show is ending its run due to previous commitments from several members of the cast. On May 1, THE DIVINE SISTER will have played 253 regular performances and 9 previews making it one of the longest running hits of Busch's Off-Broadway career.

The 56th Annual Drama Desk Awards, hosted by Harvey Fierstein, will be held Monday, May 23, at 9:00 PM at the Hammerstein Ballroom in Manhattan Center, 8th Avenue and 34th Street. This year, for the first time, a 90-minute Highlights Special of the Drama Desk Awards Ceremony will be televised nationally on OVATION, the national cable network dedicated to presenting creative arts programming to national TV audiences.
