The Tacoma Children's Musical Theater continues to grow as it enters its exciting seventh season at TMP. Presented by our Mainstage adult performers, these fully-staged musicals based on classic and children's literature are geared toward young and old alike, and are a great way to introduce young members to the theatergoing process. These productions are a great way for TMP to offer additional family-friendly opportunities to supplement our regular Mainstage programming.

Jessica Chastain made her Broadway debut last evening in the revival of The Heiress. It took a lot for the stunning Oscar nominated actress to transform into the plain, shy Catherine Sloper. But post show, Chastain glammed it up in a yellow lace Stella McCartney cocktail dress.

Producer David Youse and Four Things Productions in association with L.A. Works has just announced a celebrity staged reading in celebration of The 25th Anniversary of Robert Harling's Steel Magnolias to take place on Monday, 3 December 2012 at 7pm to benefit The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). This special one night only event will take place at the Lucille Lortel Theater located at 121 Christopher Street in New York City, where the original production performed. Directed by Judith Ivey and starring Blythe Danner, Annie Potts as M'Lynn, the original Truvy, Margo Martindale as Ouiser, Celia Keenan-Bolger as Shelby and Sarah Stiles as Annelle. Additional cast announced soon! Music for this production has been generously donated by Bonnie Raitt and Pat Boone. With support from the 25th Anniversary Honorary Committee including Olympia Dukakis, Sally Field, Daryl Hannah, Shirley MacLaine, Dolly Parton and Julia Roberts and sponsored by Lifetime Television, Magnolia Bakery and Veranda Restaurant. A VIP reception with the cast and crew will follow this special performance.

The official teaser trailer for CARRIE, starring Chloe Grace Moretz as Carrie in an adaptation of Stephen King's original novel 'Carrie'. The Screen Gems and MGM's remake also stars Julianne Moore. The 2012 American Film Market (AFM), set for October 31-November 7 in Santa Monica will screen more than 420 motion pictures, including 77 world premieres and 306 market premieres, for thousands of film buyers and industry professionals from more than 70 countries. Tonight in New York, British music entrepreneur Simon Fuller was honoured in front of an audience of 5,000 music fans at the historic Radio City Music Hall at a star-studded benefit concert to mark the 25th year of the Children's Health Fund. At the concert, Simon Fuller, the CEO of XIX Entertainment and creator of 'American Idol', received the Founders' Award to acknowledge his role as Creator and Executive Producer of 'Idol Gives Back', a record-breaking TV telethon that has raised $185 million for good causes since 2007.
