BWW Interview: Alice Ripley of ALL SONDHEIM at The Bijou Theatre

Tony Award winner Alice Ripley brings a brand new show directly from New York City's famed 54 Below to our very own Bijou Theatre in Bridgeport, CT on Saturday, November 7th. In Alice Ripley: All Sondheim, the multi-talented star of Broadway's Next to Normal, Sunset Boulevard, The Who's Tommy, Side Show, and The Rocky Horror Show explores the provocative lyrics and enduring melodies of songs written by the legendary Stephen Sondheim.

LADY AND THE VAMP Set for Laurie Beechman Theatre, 5/4

'Lady and the Vamp' celebrates female musical theatre songwriters. This concert showcases today's female composers and lyricists, with the goal of visibility and gender equality in musical theatre. These ladies are 'breaking the glissando ceiling' in an evening of wine, women, and song.

York Theatre Company's Third Installment of TUNE IN TIME Set for Tomorrow

The York Theatre Company, dedicated to the development of new musicals and preserving musical gems from the past, partners with producers Amy Engelhardt and Heather Shields to present the third installment of the new game show for musical theater lovers called Tune in Time, hosted by Emily McNamara, music direction by Nate Buccieri, with Sheila Head as the annoyingly insistent timekeeper, on Tuesday, November 11 at The York Theatre Company's home at Saint Peters (Citicorp Building, entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue). The fourth and final installment in the 2014 series is set for Tuesday, December 2. All performances begin at 7:30 p.m.

Pace New Musicals Stages LITTLE MISS FIX-IT, CONFIRMED Readings, Now thru 1/27

Pace University's Pace New Musicals (PNM) program (est. 2007 by Program Head Amy Rogers), dedicated to the discovery of new theater works, and Ryan Scott Oliver, composer- lyricist and producer, will present a staged reading of Little Miss Fix-It (book and lyrics by Kirsten A. Guenther and music by Joy Son) today, January 23-27, 2014.

Musical Mondays Theatre Lab announces a concert of new songs from their upcoming seasons as well as songs from the soon to be released Sh-K-Boom/Ghostlght CD with live performances of brand new theatre songs from the Tony Award-winning Musical Theatre Workshop. The concert event has no admission charge and reservations are not being taken. 4 show Musical Mondays subscribers will receive a complimentary demo sampler copy of the CD. The concert will take place at the Jerry Orbach Theater in the Snapple Theater Center, 210 West 50th at 6:30 PM tonight, Oct 11.
