Playwrights Theatre's will present a free reading at the Madison Public Library, 39 Keep Street, Madison, NJ of James Glossman's adaption of Suzanne Berne's novel A CRIME IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD. The reading will begin at 7:00pm on January 30, 2014, and will be followed by a discussion with Mr. Glossman. This reading is part of Playwrights Theatre's FORUM new play reading series. Any patron who purchased a FORUM pass for the December reading series, that pass is valid for this reading.

Plays are accepted in the following divisions: Elementary (grades 4-6), Junior High (grades 7-9), High School (grades 10-12). Playwrights Theatre's roundtable reading series FORUM will present "Soundings" at Fairleigh Dickinson University, Dreyfuss Theatre, 285 Madison Avenue, Madison. Playwrights Theatre has announced the winners of the 30th Annual New Jersey Young Playwrights Contest. From the 328 plays submitted by young writers throughout the state, a panel of theatre professionals has selected four High School plays, three Junior High School plays and three Elementary Schools plays. In each category, selection was blind; plays were selected without knowledge of playwrights' schools, grade or background. The 30th Annual New Jersey Young Playwrights Contest Festival will be held on May 20 and May 21, 2013 as part of a partnership between Playwrights Theatre and Premiere Stages at Kean University. Select plays from this festival will be reprised at Playwrights Theatre's nationally-recognized Forum Reading Series in December 2013. This reading series brings together writers from all over the United States.
Dreamcatcher Repertory Theatre, professional Theatre in Residence at the Oakes Center in Summit, and Playwrights Theatre of New Jersey of Madison are co-producing the premiere production of Suzanne Bradbeer's Shakespeare in Vegas. This new play tells the story of a wise guy with a dream and a discouraged New York actress who attempt to bring legit theatre to Sin City. Shakespeare in Vegas plays April 4 through 21, with talkbacks following the April 7 and 14 matinees.

Playwright Dominique Cieri will have a reading of her play Count Down performed on March 16, 2013 at 7pm at Fairleigh Dickinson University. She also had a reading of her play The Baby Killer Play on December 18, 2012. Additionally, playwright, Pia Wilson, had a reading of her play The River Pure for Healing on December 14, 2012. Both readings were held at Fairleigh Dickinson University as part of Playwrights Theatre's FORUM Roundtable Reading Series. Poets Kathleen Graber and Peter Murphy as well as Young Adult Prose writer, Toni De Palma, will read their works at a site to be determined in Southern New Jersey. In May, prose writers Eson Kim and Roxanne (Ruchama) Feuerman will present selections from their works at a site to be determined.
