The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia Announces 2017/2018 Season IMPROVISIONARIES

A founding resident company of The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia (COP) announces its 2017-2018 Season. From September 2017 through May 2018, the Chamber Orchestra will perform six programs as part of its subscription series. All six concert pairs will be performed in the Kimmel Center's intimate Perelman Theater. Building upon our 52-year history of world-class artistry, vibrant programming and innovative engagement, the 2017/18 season will represent an exciting, watershed moment for The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, featuring both an expansion of current programs and an introduction of new long-term initiatives.

Jessica Lang To Perform at The Music Center, 2/17-19

The Music Center continues its 2016-2017 season of Glorya Kaufman Presents Dance at The Music Center with performances by Jessica Lang Dance (February 17-19, 2017) at The Music Center's Ahmanson Theatre, including the West Coast premiere of Tesseracts of Time, created in collaboration with world renowned architect Steven Holl. The three-day engagement also includes Thousand Yard Stare, a new work created by choreographer Jessica Lang in 2015, audience favorite, Droplet, and Lang's iconic gem, The Calling. The program highlights Lang's keen ability to create emotionally accessible work using modern themes. From incorporating architecture, shapes and patterns into her work, to developing pieces based on veterans' battle experiences, Lang offers a fresh perspective on contemporary dance for the 21st century.

Catherine Tharin Dance to Appear at Soaking WET, 2/16-19 at West End Theater

The Soaking WET dance series, curated by David Parker and Jeff Kazin, will present Catherine Tharin Dance in a program titled 'You Who Arrived' - 5 dances, 2 premieres by Tharin.   The dances that make up the full evening work are Still Center, with live music by composer John King, Dark Moons,You Who Arrived (premiere), History Doesn't End (premiere), and A Natural History, with all segments linked in their desire to reveal quiet truths.

SO Percussion to Perform with University of Utah Music Students
