Boston College Theatre Showcases Original Student Plays in NEW VOICES 2013, 3/22-23

The Boston College Theatre Department continues its 2012-2013 season with 'New Voices 2013,' which showcases original short pieces by Boston College student playwrights, curated by Associate Professor and Theatre Department Chair Scott T. Cummings. The production will be presented in BC's Robsham Theater Arts Center, in the Bonn Studio Theater, today, March 22-23, with performances at 4 and 8 p.m.

TBTB to Stage Bruce Graham's ACCORDING TO GOLDMAN at Theatre Row, Beg. 4/6

Off-Broadway's Theater Breaking Through Barriers (TBTB) continues its 33rd Season with the Off-Broadway premiere of ACCORDING TO GOLDMAN by Bruce Graham (THE OUTGOING TIDE, ANY GIVEN MONDAY), with previews set to begin April 6, prior to its official press opening April 14, at Theatre Row's Clurman Theatre (410 West 42nd Street). TBTB artistic director and founder Ike Schambelan directs.

Irish Rep Announces Four-Week Extension of DONNYBROOK thru April 28

Irish Repertory Theatre announces a four-week extension of DONNYBROOK!-a musical based on the movie 'The Quiet Man,' with music and lyrics by Johnny Burke and book by Robert E. McEnroe-with Off-Broadway performances now set to run through April 28 on the company's Francis J. Greenburger Mainstage Theatre (132 West 22nd Street). Charlotte Moore (2012 Callaway Award finalist for DANCING AT LUGHNASA) directs.

Bell Shakespeare's HENRY 4 comes to State Theatre Centre, 4/5-4/13

Bell Shakespeare kicks off 2013 with an exciting new production of Henry 4, directed by and starring Co-Artistic Director John Bell making his debut as Falstaff. Set in the present day and inspired by the 2011 London Riots, this new production of Henry 4, presents a fresh Australian perspective on English history and culture, with its monarchy, class system and civil unrest.

James Barbour, Jenny Powers to Lead Irish Rep's DONNYBROOK!, Beginning 2/7

Irish Repertory Theatre continues its 25th Anniversary Season with DONNYBROOK! -a musical based on the movie 'The Quiet Man,' with music and lyrics by Johnny Burke and book by Robert E. A large cast of professional actor's based mostly out of New York City joins some favorite local performers to round out a large cast of 30. Boston College Theatre Department Presents 'Puppetology: An Evening of Uncommon Theater,' 12/2

The Boston College Theatre Department will present a one-night festival --Puppetology: An Evening of Uncommon Theater--in conjunction with the department's Rev. J. Donald Monan, S.J. Professorship in Theatre Arts, which this year is held by theater scholar and artist John Bell, a leading international authority on puppet theater and its allied artistic forms of object theater and toy theater.

(MITF nominated outstanding supporting actor) and FAMILY DINNER as well as the recent American Premiere of THE IMAGINARY LIFE OF THE STREET SWEEPER AUGUST G at Casa 0101 Theater in Los Angeles can now be heard as the voices of Scrooge and the Black Hen on the PIE Story Theatre Holiday Stories and Carols CD produced by PIE Story Theatre. He is joined by two-time Drama Critic Award Winner Kellie Johnson (BLOOD BROTHERS and FORBIDDEN BROADWAY) who also won critical acclaim for her turn as Jackie Cochran in the World Premiere of THE FASTEST WOMAN ALIVE Off-Broadway.

Advance Tickets for THE HOBBIT Go On Sale This Wednesday, 11/7

As Deadline reported this weekend, advanced tickets to Peter Jackson's upcoming, sprawling epic THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY are set to go on sale this Wednesday, Nov. 7. Tickets are available online or at theater box offices beginning at 12 PM Eastern Time. The film opens Dec. 14.
