Calling all Parrotheads! This week the musical starting the music of Jimmy Buffett, ESCAPE TO MARGARITAVILLE, opens at the Saenger Theatre! If you need to escape reality for a couple of hours, sink your toes in the sand, and breathe in that fresh island air, this is the show for you. As New Orleanians, we have sort of laid claim on Jimmy Buffett, although he is originally from Pascagoula, Mississippi, because over the course of his entire career he has brought his music and lifestyle straight to our hometown.

On Today, October 3, Playing For Change will host its 'We Are One' benefit concert at the historic Mayan Theater in Los Angeles, with all ticket proceeds from the event going to Playing For Change Foundation, a separate 501(c)3 organization, established in 2007 in order to give back to the communities of the musicians met while filming these videos.

ESCAPE TO MARGARITAVILLE, the new musical featuring the songs of iconic singer-songwriter-author Jimmy Buffett, is coming to Broadway! But before it lands on the Great White Way, the show launches a pre-Broadway tour in New Orleans at the Saenger Theatre (October 20-28, 2017), and will play Houston's Hobby Center (October 31-November 5, 2017), and Chicago's Oriental Theatre (November 9-December 2, 2017), before sailing to Broadway at the Marquis Theatre with previews beginning February 16, 2018 and an opening night officially set for Thursday, March 15, 2018.

We all think we know a lot about Broadway financing. We read capitalization numbers in stories. The Broadway League puts out weekly grosses and, even though we may not know a show's exact weekly running cost, those in the know can approximate. It is obvious when a show opens and closes on the Great White Way. Tours get into murkier territories.
