Casting has been announced for the National Tour of MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET, the Broadway musical inspired by the electrifying true story of four rock 'n' roll icons, which is entering its third smash year on the road. The tour will play over 75 cities this season including the State Theatre in Easton on Wednesday, January 22nd.

Donning a stunning dress and period hair, Holly sang a beautiful and fun rendition of the Elvis and Ann-Margret duet that had the audience on their feet, clapping and cheering. Million Dollar Quartet, now the longest-running Broadway musical production in Chicago's history, is celebrating the holidays by adding performance dates and a special number for a limited time. For the holidays only, the classic 1958 song "Run, Run, Rudolph" has been added to the finale of the show.

In Play it Again, Santa, Santa (not Sam) is at the piano and the out-of-the-way nightclub is much farther north - like at the North Pole! There will be eight Seattle concerts plus two outreach performances in Tacoma and Everett. For the first two Seattle concerts of their 34th season opener, SMC welcomes to the stage Tony award-winning pianist and vocalist Levi Kreis (tonight, Nov. 30 & Dec. 1 only) as the guest artist.

As anyone who has read my previous reviews knows, I am a big fan of Mitch Gershenfeld and The McCallum Theatre for its ever-marvelous slate of offerings to the desert theatre-going community, and this production is no exception. I wish I had a million superlatives to equal the high caliber production that opened last evening for a "too-limited engagement".
