NOW That's What I Call Music! and Walt Disney Records have once again teamed up for a special NOW album collection showcasing beloved Disney music classics. NOW That's What I Call Disney 2 will be released on CD and digitally on Monday, November 11.
Bay Street Theatre has announced that Scott Schwartz, a leading voice of the next generation of American theater, has joined Bay Street as its new Artistic Director. A special welcome party was hosted last evening by Bonnie Comley and Stewart Lane at a private club in New York City to celebrate his arrival and to introduce him to Bay Street Theatre patrons and members of the Broadway community of actors, directors and producers. Bay Street Theatre showed the Hamptons a fantastic party last Saturday, July 21, 2012 at its annual Rock The Dock Summer Benefit Bash. The evening kicked off with a cocktail hour and silent auction, while guests arrived dressed to party on the Long Wharf in Sag Harbor. Special guests included Bay Street Board Members Chris Bauer (True Blood) and Broadway, film and television actress Mercedes Ruehl; Tony Award winner and star of the upcoming BIG MAYBELLE: SOUL OF THE BLUES Lillias White, and the show's writer and director Paul Levine, and more. The South Florida community is invited to celebrate the achievements of the talented theater professionals in the region at the 36th Annual Carbonell Awards on Monday, April 2, 2012, at 7:30 p.m. in the Amaturo Theater, at Broward Center for the Performing Arts, 201 S.W. 5th Ave., Fort Lauderdale. Tickets in advance are $25 with $20 tickets available for groups of 10 or more, $35 at the door. Tickets are available at the Broward Center's box office or by emailing carbexec@aol.com or visiting www.browardcenter.org. This award ceremony will feature performances from each of the productions nominated for Best Musical in 2011.
