Atlantic For Kids Premieres Molly Shannon's TILLY THE TRICKSTER, Now thru 10/13

ATLANTIC FOR KIDS presents the World Premiere of Molly Shannon's Tilly the Trickster, with Music and Lyrics by Drew Fornarola and Book by Jeremy Dobrish, Based on the book Tilly the Trickster by Molly Shannon. Tilly the Trickster by Molly Shannon was originally published by Abrams Books for Young Readers on September 1, 2011 and is available from major bookstores as well as online retailers.

RSO FEST to Celebrate New Musicals by Ryan Scott Oliver at 54 Below, 10/7-11/18

Very Intense Productions and Your Theatrics | Jeremy Youett and Jacob Harvey present RSO FEST, a series of concerts showcasing three new musicals by composer Ryan Scott Oliver. RSO FEST will launch at New York's premier Supper Club, 54 Below (254 West 54th Street, NYC), on Monday, October 7 with the 35mm: A Musical Exhibition (produced in association with Tony Award-winning producer John Johnson), followed by Darling (produced in association with Grammy Award-winner Kurt Deutsch and Sh-k-boom) on Monday, November 4, and then Jasper In Deadland (produced in association with Prospect Theater Company) completing the trilogy on Monday November 18.

Midtown Direct Rep to Present Reading of David Johnston's EVIL TIME, 9/8

Midtown Direct Rep will present a reading of David Johnston's Evil Time as part of Midtown Direct Rep's play development series focused on new and innovative American theatre: Theatre in the Loft. The reading is set for SOPAC on Sunday, September 8th at 7 PM.

Midtown Direct Rep to Stage Reading of James Hindman's THE DRAMA DEPARTMENT Tonight

Midtown Direct Rep will present a reading of the Terrance McNally Award finalist play, The Drama Department by James Hindman as part of Midtown Direct Rep's play development series focused on new and innovative American theatre: Theatre in the Loft. Directed by Peter Flynn, the reading will take place tonight, Sunday, July 14th at 7:00PM. Admission: $15 Cover, Cash Bar, No Drink Minimum.

NYMF Announces Additional Concerts, Talkbacks & Workshops; Tickets Now On Sale

Completing the programming for the 10th annual New York Musical Theatre Festival, NYMF announced several additional concerts, a series of educational workshops, and a "Musicals on Television" screening series in partnership with the Paley Center for Media. This year's Festival will begin July 8th and continue through July 28th. Single tickets are currently on sale.

SIGNS OF LIFE Gets Staged Reading at American University Tonight

Snap-Two Productions, Inc. and LimanAde Productions in association with Issembert Productions, Inc. will present a staged reading of the new drama with music, Signs of Life, at American University in the Katzen Arts Center Studio Theatre tonight, June 1 at 7:00 P.M. and June 2 at 1:00 P.M. The performances will feature American University alumni, current students and a student from BRAVO@KAT, the children's wing of Kensington Arts Theatre. This is the first academic production of Signs of Life.

Stages Festival and Midtown Direct Rep Read 7.5 WONDROUS ACT(S) OF TRUE LOVE Today

The New Jersey Theatre Alliance and Midtown Direct Rep will present a reading of the play 7.5 Wondrous Act(s) of True Love by Jeremy Desmon as part of Midtown Direct Rep's recently launched play development series focused on new and innovative American theatre. Today's March 17th reading is part of The Stages Festival, an annual statewide program that provides discounted and free theatre performances, workshops and events throughout the month of March. This performance, typically $15 per ticket, will have a limited quantity of free tickets available as part of the Stages Festival. (Limit two per patron while supplies last).

BWW Interviews: MIDTOWN DIRECT Presents New Works Reading Series

In just two and a half years, Midtown Direct Rep in residence at the South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC) has proven a welcome addition to the theater scene in Northern New Jersey. The company of Equity actors is helmed by co-Artistic Directors Jeremy Dobrish and Sandy Rustin and has received many accolades for the work they are doing. BWW had a chance to talk to Sandy about the company and their ongoing reading series that features new works.

CLIFFORD THE BIG RED DOG LIVE is a new musical adventure teaches audiences that 'it only takes a little to BE BIG.' Clifford and Emily Elizabeth take a journey to Birdwell Island with their friends Cleo, T-Bone, Charley, Jetta and Mac. Through laughter, songs and dancing, the characters and audience learn about Clifford's Big Ideas, from the PBS KIDS series Clifford the Big Red Dog: Share, Play Fair, Have Respect, Work Together, Be Responsible, Be Truthful, Be Kind, Help Others, Believe In Yourself and Be A Good Friend.
