HBO received 27 Primetime Emmy(R) Awards, the most of any network for the 12th year in a row, in the 65th Annual Primetime Emmy(R) Awards competition.

The 65th Primetime Emmy Awards, hosted by Broadway favorite and HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER star Neil Patrick Harris, aired on CBS and featured songs, dancing, and a number of your Broadway favorites.

THE NEWSROOM star and Tony-nominee Jeff Daniels took home this year's prize for OUTSTANDING LEAD ACTOR IN A DRAMA SERIES.

Daniels beat out Hugh Bonneville on Downton Abbey, Bryan Cranston on Breaking Bad, Jon Hamm on Mad Men, Damian Lewis on Homeland, and Kevin Spacey on House of Cards.

The 65th Primetime Emmy Awards, hosted by HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER's Neil Patrick Harris, is telecast live coast-to-coast tonight, September 22nd (8 PM ET/5 PM PT) on CBS from the NOKIA Theater L.A. NEWSROOM star Jeff Daniels revealed through Twitter yesterday that HBO has renewed the Aaron Sorkin series for a third season.
