On Saturday, July 15, at 8 p.m., BSO Music Director Andris Nelsons leads the Boston Symphony Orchestra in one of the great highlights of the 2017 Tanglewood season: the orchestra's first-ever complete concert performance of Wagner's epic Das Rheingold, the first of the four dramas from Wagner's masterpiece Der Ring des Nibelungen, and a tour de force milestone for the festival.

Aurora Theatre Company closes its 25th season with the Bay Area Premiere of SPLENDOUR, Abi Morgan's (Suffragette, The Iron Lady, Shame, The Hour) riveting play about the fragility of power and the unreliability of language. Barbara Damashek (American Buffalo) returns to Aurora to helm this drama, featuring Lorri Holt (The Aspern Papers), Denmo Ibrahim (Betrayed), Mia Tagano, and Sam Jackson. Terrence McNally's critically acclaimed 1995 Broadway hit Love! Valour! Compassion! is being revived in Nashville for a limited run at Music Valley Event Center. Produced in cooperation with Murfreesboro-based nonprofit Radical Arts, Love! Valour! Compassion! will offer patrons dinner and show-only options for its July 7-23 performances.

WORKING is the extraordinary genre-defining musical from Grammy and Academy Award-winner Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Godspell) based on Studs Terkel's best-selling book of interviews with the American workforce: Working: People Talk About What They Do All Day and How They Feel About What They Do. The show has been adapted by Stephen Schwartz and Nina Faso, the creators of Godspell and Rags, with additional contributions by Gordon Greenberg.

Cortland Repertory Theatre kicks off their 46th annual summer season at the Little York Pavilion in Preble with the brilliantly hysterical spy comedy The 39 Steps. This award winning play was adapted by Patrick Barlow from the novel by John Buchan and the movie by Alfred Hitchcock.
