Andris Nelsons Returning to Carnegie Hall with Boston Symphony Orchestra, 10/20-22

Carnegie Hall presents the renowned Boston Symphony Orchestra (BSO) led by Music Director Andris Nelsons in three concerts this October. The orchestra's series this season begins on Tuesday, October 20 at 8:00 p.m. with the New York premiere of Sebastian Currier's Divisions. Acclaimed pianist Paul Lewis is guest soloist in Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 3 in C Minor, Op. 37 and the BSO and Mr. Nelsons conclude with a performance of Brahms's Symphony No. 2 in D Major, Op. 73.

Capitol Center for the Arts Sets MET: Live in HD Screenings for 2015-16

The Capitol Center for the Arts is pleased to announce that it will present 11 productions in next season's Met: Live in HD series, beginning with Verdi's Il Trovatore on Saturday, October 3, at 12:55pm. Single tickets for this series are on sale now for $26 Adults; $22 Seniors/Met/CCA Members; and $15 Students. Season subscriptions are also available at $234 Adults; $198 Seniors/Met/CCA Members; and $135 students.

Lyric Opera of KC Launches Resident Artists Program, Led by Vinson Cole

General Director and CEO Deborah Sandler today announced the launch of the first-ever Resident Artists Program for the Lyric Opera of Kansas City to be led by Vinson Cole, UMKC Conservatory of Music and Dance faculty member and one of the leading artists of his generation.  The program will begin with auditions in December and will include four singers and one pianist for the initial class of the 2016-17 season. 

Alan Gilbert & NY Philharmonic Set for Carnegie Hall's Opening Night Gala Concert, 10/7

Music Director Alan Gilbert will conduct the New York Philharmonic in Carnegie Hall's Opening Night Gala Concert, launching the Hall's 125th anniversary season. The program will feature the World Premiere of Magnus Lindberg's Vivo, a Carnegie Hall co-commission; Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No.1, with Evgeny Kissin as soloist; and Ravel's Daphnis et Chloe? Suite No. 2, and takes place Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at 7:00 p.m. WQXR, New York's classical music radio station, will broadcast and stream the concert live on air at 105.9 FM and online at www.wqxr.org, hosted by WQXR's Jeff Spurgeon.

Carnegie Hall to Launch 2015-16 125th Anniversary Season This October

Carnegie Hall opens its 2015-2016 125th anniversary season on Wednesday, October 7 at 7:00 p.m. with the New York Philharmonic conducted by Music Director Alan Gilbert, performing the world premiere of Vivo by Magnus Lindberg, co-commissioned by Carnegie Hall, Ravel's Daphnis et Chloe Suite No. 2, and Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1 with Evgeny Kissin.

Happy Birthday Deborah Voigt! On the heels of a sell-out for 'Deborah Voigt: Voight Lessons', this past weekend at The Art House in Provincetown, MA, we want to celebrate 'Debbie's' birthday, where we found out, on this day, that she's teaching at Glimmerglass. 'Mark Cortale Presents' has his Broadway Series at The Art House in Provincetown for the 2015 Summer Season, where the show was standing room only.

Opera Star Deborah Voigt to Make Provincetown Debut, 8/2

 The Art House in Provincetown, MA, headed by Mark Cortale, will present Metropolitan Opera Star Deborah Voigt in "Voigt Lessons" created by Terrence McNally, Francesca Zambello and Deborah Voigt, for one night only on August 2 at 6:30 PM. Music Direction is by Kevin Stites, and the production is Directed by Richard Jay-Alexander. "Voigt Lessons" was originally created by the Glimmerglass Opera in 2011. This performance will mark Ms. Voigt's Provincetown debut as part of the critically acclaimed Broadway @ The Art House concert series. Baltimore Symphony Orchestra Opens Season with All-Star CANDIDE Tonight

Baltimore, Md. (March 23, 2015) - For the conclusion of the 2014-2015 season, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) and Music Director Marin Alsop lead the BSO premiere of Leonard Bernstein's comedic operetta Candide tonight, June 11 at the Music Center at Strathmore, and June 12 through June 14 at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. The BSO announced today that the semi-staged production of Candide will be directed by Garnett Bruce and features an all-star cast including Peter Sagal, the host of NPR's weekly current events quiz show "Wait Wait…Don't Tell Me," and Judy Kaye, Tony Award-winning star of The Phantom of the Opera. Rounding out the cast are Keith Jameson, Lauren Snouffer, Joshua Hopkins, Mark Diamond, Marie Lenormand, Stephanie Sadownik, Curtis Bannister, Patrick Cook, Andrew McLaughlin, Melissa Wimbish and Lewis Shaw.
