The Board of Governing Trustees of American Ballet Theatre has elected Andrew F. Barth Chairman and Brian J. Heidtke President. The elections, which become effective immediately, were announced today by Kara Medoff Barnett, ABT Executive Director. Barth succeeds Donald Kramer who has held the position as Chairman since 2011. Heidtke succeeds Sharon Patrick who has served as President since 2009.

On June 4, 2016, The Elliott Dance Company (EDC), under the direction of Kim Elliott, presented A Night of Diversity Dance Concert at the Jacqueline K. Onassis Theater on West 46th Street in NYC. This was a special performance for a few reasons. For one, this is the last performance by the EDC, as the company is planning on taking a hiatus from performing. And second, Ms. Elliott being a graduate of the Jacqueline K. Onassis High School, is happy to come back and perform where it all started.

Thanks to the generosity of Asolo Repertory Theatre's Board of Directors and Energy Today, the theatre has provided more than 360 complimentary tickets and transportation for area children to experience Asolo Rep's U.S. premiere of U.K. sensation HETTY FEATHER. Young people associated with Girls Inc., the Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota County, the Visible Men Academy, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Sun Coast will attend performances throughout June. The Jewish Family & Children's Service of the Suncoast provided additional tickets for students from Booker Middle School. Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater is seeking proposals from theater companies, ensembles and individual artists interested in participating in the 2016/17 Kogod Cradle Series as part of the American Voices New Play Institute. Now in its fifth season, the Kogod Cradle Series supports the exploration and development of new and emerging work in the theater's intimate 200-seat Arlene and Robert Kogod Cradle.
Victory Gardens Theater will host a special benefit performance of The House That Will Not Stand by Ensemble Playwright Marcus Gardley, directed by VG Artistic Director Chay Yew, in support of Congo Square Theatre's Artistic Director Sam G. Roberson, Jr. on June 18, 2016 at 7:30 pm. Victory Gardens will donate fifty percent of the proceeds from the performance to assist Roberson with housing, food and medical care as he waits for a heart and kidney transplant. The evening will include a pre-show reception starting at 6:30 pm to celebrate Sam followed by the performance at 7:30 pm.
