Lincoln Ave.) will present "Rose," the Chicago area premiere of best-selling Kennedy biographer Laurence Leamer's one-woman play about Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy, Aug. 19 - Sept. 25. Directing the season opener, Ring of Fire: The Music of Johnny Cash (October 7- 30, 2016) is B.J. Cleveland with Musical Direction by Sonny Franks. Next up, the regional premiere of Silent Sky (January 20-February 12, 2017) will be directed by Kelsey Leigh Ervi. The Gospel According to Thomas Jefferson, Charles Dickens, and Count Leo Tolstoy: Discord (April 14-May 7, 2017) will be directed by Emily Scott Banks. Rene Moreno will return to direct Native Gardens (June 2- 25, 2017). Sunday in the Park With George (July 28-August 20, 2017) will be directed by Terry Martin, with Musical Direction by Jeff Lankov.

Desert Theatreworks's new version of A CHRISTMAS CAROL is touching and funny. Director Lance Phillips-Martinez adapted the Charles Dickens novella by using Dickens' words for narration and dialog. He also selected period Christmas carols, sung primarily by the chorus,The clever staging, the use of a combination musical chorus and Greek chorus (the latter narrates early parts of the story), the costumes, the make-up, the imaginative sound and lighting, the elements of humor, and, of course, the acting all contribute to the success of this top-notch production.
Titan Theatre Company opened its annual production of Charles Dickens' A CHRISTMAS CAROL last Friday December 4, and the show runs till December 20th at Queens Theatre. The original musical adaptation was conceived by Emily Trask & Lenny Banovez and was named 'Best Production' in the Timesledgers 'Best Of Queens' Awards in 2014.
