TRAINSPOTTING USA Hosts Talkback with Irvine Welsh and Tom Mullen After Show Tonight, 10/18

Tonight's October 18th performance of Trainspotting USA, Tom Mullen's "re-adaptation" of Harry Gibson's stage versions of Irvine Welsh's classic novel Trainspotting will include a post-show talkback with Mullen and Welsh, moderated by Tara Branham. The talkback will begin immediately following a 7 pm performance at Theater Wit, 1229 W. Belmont Ave., Chicago.

TRAINSPOTTING USA to Play Chicago's Theatre Wit, 10/12-11/25

Irvine Welsh's classic novel Trainspotting, which in 1996 was adapted as both a feature film by Academy Award-winning director Danny Boyle and a play by Harry Gibson, will come to the Chicago stage in October in a new American adaptation of Gibson's play. This new version of Welsh's graphic and uncompromising story of young heroin addicts living in Edinburgh, Scotland has been re-imagined and set in Kansas City, Missouri.

Tommy Lee Jones Among Donostia Award Honorees at San Sebastian Festival

The 60th edition of the San Sebastian Festival will this year bestow its Donostia Awards on actors John Travolta, Ewan McGregor and Tommy Lee Jones and the Special 60th Anniversary Donostia Award going to director Oliver Stone. In 1969, Jones made his Broadway debut in John Osborne's A Patriot for Me. His other Broadway appearances include Four on a Garden and Ulysses in Nighttown.

NXNE has announced a Gala Presentation of ECSTASY, based on the IRVINE WELSH novel Ecstasy: Three Tales of Chemical Romance, as part of the NXNE Film Festival tonight, June 14 at 7pm, venue to be announced shortly. IRVINE WELSH (in Toronto to launch his newest book Skagboys, a prequel to Trainspotting) will be in attendance and participate in an audience Q&A following the NXNE screening of Ecstasy.

NXNE Presents Bad Religion, Raekwon & Ghostface Killah & Matthew Good, Tonight, 6/11

In addition to the announcement of The Flaming Lips headlining at Yonge-Dundas Square on Saturday June 16 (presented by AOL Canada), North by Northeast (NXNE) has announced the next wave of programming for the 18th edition of the festival, taking over Toronto today, June 11 through June 17, 2012. NXNE Announces More Events for 2012 Festival

North by Northeast (NXNE) announces new programming as part of the NXNE FILM FESTIVAL, including six Canadian premieres and eight world premieres. NXNE Film will screen more than 40 movies from June 11-17 at the NFB Mediatheque, Royal Cinema, and Toronto Underground Cinema.
