Geffen Playhouse announces the cast for its production of The Model Apartment written by Pulitzer Prize winner Donald Margulies.

The launch of Playwrights Welcome, a new program developed for Dramatists Guild of America members by Samuel French along with Dramatists Play Service, Dramatic Publishing, Music Theatre International, Playscripts, The Rodgers and Hammerstein Organization and participating theaters, was announced today.

Seattle Repertory Theatre presents the world-premiere production, Roz and Ray, a play by local playwright, Seattle Rep Writers Group alumna, and University of Washington Senior Artist in Residence Karen Hartman, with direction from the acclaimed Chay Yew, Artistic Director of Victory Gardens Theater in Chicago.

Victory Gardens Theater continues its 42st season with the world premiere of Roz and Ray, written by Karen Hartman and directed by Artistic Director Chay Yew. Roz and Ray features Mary Beth Fisher (Roz) and James Vincent Meredith (Ray). This World Premiere runs November 11 - December 11, 2016, with the press performance on Friday, November 18, 2016, at 7:30 pm at Victory Gardens Theater, 2433 N. Lincoln Avenue.

La Jolla Playhouse announces that its 2017 Performance Outreach Program (POP) Tour production,#SuperShinySara, by Wesley Middleton and staged by acclaimed San Diego director and Moxie Theatre Artistic DirectorDelicia Turner-Sonnenberg (Without Walls Festival 2013's Counterweight), will tour schools throughout San Diego CountyJanuary 30 - March 31, 2017. Commissioned by the Playhouse, this world-premiere play for young audiences will also have four public performances on March 25 & 26, 2017 at 1:00pm and 3:00pm in the Playhouse's Sheila and Hughes Potiker Theatre.

WOWOW, Japan's leading premium pay TV broadcaster, announced today that Matthew Morrison ("Finding Neverland" "South Pacific," "Hairspray"), Kelli O'Hara ("The King and I") and well-known Japanese actor Yoshio Inoue have signed on as headline performers for WOWOW's highly anticipated "Tony Awards Concert In Tokyo," which will take place on March 18th, 2017.

Portland Center Stage at The Armory debuts its new Northwest Stories series with Jeanne Sakata's Hold These Truths, a play inspired by the life of civil rights hero Gordon Hirabayashi, a Seattle native who was posthumously awarded the 2012 Presidential Medal of Freedom. Hold These Truths opens in the Ellyn Bye Studio on October 7, with previews beginning October 1 and performances running through November 13. Hold These Truths will be directed by Jessica Kubzansky, who directed the world premiere at East West Players in Los Angeles. Actor Ryun Yu, who originated the role of Hirabayashi at East West Players, will once again play the role in Portland.

Yale Repertory Theatre, celebrating 50 years of daring artists, bold choices, and adventurous audiences, presents the world premiere of Scenes from Court Life, or the whipping boy and his prince by Sarah Ruhl, directed by Mark Wing-Davey, now through October 22 at Yale University Theatre (222 York Street). Opening Night is tonight, October 6.

For the eighth year, Seattle's TeenTix, an arts access and engagement program for teenagers, has announced the nominees for its annual Teeny Awards. Like a Teen Choice Awards for local arts events and organizations, the Teeny Awards aim to empower teen arts audiences and to recognize those organizations that have done an especially good job of welcoming young people over the past year.
