Photo Flash: The Old Globe Presents THE TWO GENTLEMEN OF VERONA

The Old Globe/University of San Diego Graduate Theatre Program will present William Shakespeare's The Two Gentlemen of Verona at The Old Globe Arena Stage at the James S. Copley Auditorium, San Diego Museum of Art. Directed by Program Director Richard Seer, The Two Gentlemen of Verona will run Nov. 14 - Nov. 22.

RIALTO CHATTER: THE 39 STEPS to Move Off-Broadway?

The New York Times is reporting that the producers of THE 39 STEPS have begun discussions to move the play to New World Stages (where it could take the place of The Toxic Avenger, which announced this morning that it was closing). No decisions have been made, but Bob Boyett, the lead producer, tells the paper that they hope to follow Avenue Q's successful lead if business arrangements can be made.

THE 39 STEPS to Play 700th Performance on Broadway 11/10

Alfred Hitchcock's THE 39 STEPS, Broadway's longest running comedy, plays its 700th performance tomorrow night, Tuesday, November 10, at the Helen Hayes Theatre (240 West 44th Street). At that performance, the production will tie the runs of such legendary plays as The Miracle Worker (1959) and That Championship Season (1972). THE 39 STEPS also recently passed such long-running shows as Purlie (1970), Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (1955), The Children's Hour (1934) and August: Osage County (2007).

THE 39 STEPS National Tour to Launch in New Haven, 11/5

Broadway's hit comedy, The 39 Steps, makes it National Tour Debut at the Shubert Theater in New Haven during an exclusive Connecticut engagement running November 5-7, 2009. The four performances, running Thursday and Friday at 8pm, and Saturday at 2 & 8pm are sponsored by Lexus of New Haven, Whitney Center and media sponsors, New Haven Register and WTNH, News Channel 8.

Black Box Theatre Presents THE CREATURE 10/23 - 11/7

Black Box Theatre presents a one-of-a-kind Halloween experience with the World Premiere of THE CREATURE by Trevor Allen. Rob Melrose directs this new play featuring James Carpenter* (The Creature), Gabriel Marin* (Victor Frankenstein), and Garth Petal (Captain Walton). The design team includes Cassandra Carpenter (costumes) and Cliff Caruthers, who has created an original soundscape for the production. THE CREATURE plays October 23 through November 7 (Press opening: Sunday, October 25) at Thick House (1695 18th St., between Carolina & Arkansas) in San Francisco. Yale Repertory Theatre's ECLIPSED Continues Through 11/14

The Yale Repertory Theatre presents Danai Gurira's ECLIPSED previews began, October 24th, and the show opened October 29th. The cast features Pascale Armand, Zainab Jah, Adepero Oduye, Stacey Sargeant, and Shona Tucker.

NEXT FALL Will Arrive on Broadway with Critically Acclaimed Original Cast Intact

Barbara Manocherian, Richard Willis and Anthony Barrile in association with Naked Angels (Geoffrey Nauffts, Artistic Director; John Alexander, Managing Director; Andy Donald, Associate Artistic Director; Brittany O'Neill, Producer) are pleased to announce that the critically acclaimed original cast will return for the Broadway run of NEXT FALL, the new American play by Geoffrey Nauffts and directed by Sheryl Kaller. The Caretaker to Run Oct. 1 - Nov. 1 at Central Square Theater

When an elderly tramp is given lodging in the derelict home of two brothers, the ensuing relationships and shifting alliances intensify with hilarious and unsettling consequences in Harold Pinter?s great psychological drama, The Caretaker. Featuring John Kuntz as Aston, Michael Balcanoff as Davies, and Joe Lanza as Mick and directed by Daniel Gidron, The Nora Theatre Company presents The Caretaker from Thursday, October 1 through Sunday, November 1 at Central Square Theater. The Press Opening is set for Sunday, October 4 at 2 PM.

Goodman Theatre to Present World Premiere of HIGH HOLIDAYS, 10/31

Native Chicago playwright Alan Gross teams up with director Steven Robman to bring his newest work, High Holidays, to Goodman Theatre. At the center of this four-character drama-inspired by Gross' own life and family experience-is young Billy Roman (Max Zuppa) and the anxiety-riddled preparations for his Bar Mitzvah in 1963 north suburban Chicago.

Goodman Theatre Presents Broadway-bound Double-bill Of HUGHIE/KRAPP'S LAST TAPE

Goodman Artistic Director Robert Falls, acclaimed Canadian director Jennifer Tarver and celebrated star Brian Dennehy team up again for a Broadway-bound double bill, Hughie/Krapp's Last Tape; January 16- February 21, 2010 in the Goodman's Albert Ivar Theatre.
