Tony Award winner Bernadette Peters is slated to appear on ABC's The View on Friday, February 19th. Peters (and her dog) will appear on the show's second annual Mutt Show to promote pet adoption, as well as discuss her second children's book titled 'Stella is a Star!'. Proceeds from the book will go to Broadway Barks, the organization she co-founded with Mary Tyler Moore that finds homes for shelter animals with the help of Broadway stars.
According to her website, Bernadette Peters, who was most recently seen performing in New York in her sold out Broadway Barks benefit concert, will be playing at a variety of venues around the country for her upcoming tour, which kicks off next year. The two-time Tony winner will perform a wide variety of tunes from her vast theatre repertoire.

The book, inspired by Peters' dog Stella, will feature illustrations by Liz Murphy. Bernadette Peters devotes her time and talents to numerous events that benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Peters' 'pet project' is Broadway Barks, which she co-founded with friend Mary Tyler Moore, which is an annual, star-studded dog and cat adoption event presented each summer in Shubert Alley, benefiting over two dozen rescue shelters throughout the New York City area. She recently added author and songwriter to her roster of achievements with her debut children's book Broadway Barks which debuted on The New York Times Bestseller list.
