La Jolla Playhouse is pleased to announce the complete cast of its world-premiere musical Bonnie & Clyde, music by Frank Wildhorn (Jekyll & Hyde, The Scarlet Pimpernel), lyrics by Tony Award-winner Don Black (Sunset Boulevard, Song and Dance), book by Ivan Menchell (The Cemetery Club, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang), with direction and musical staging by Jeff Calhoun (Deaf West's Big River and Pippin, Grease!), playing November 10 - December 20, 2009 in the Playhouse's Mandell Weiss Theatre.

Yvonne King Burch, lead singer of the groundbreaking Grammy®-nominated swing era vocal group, The King Sisters, and pioneering creator and producer, of The King Family Show television series starring the successful multi-generational singing group, The King Family, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2009 in Santa Barbara, surrounded by her family, just one month shy of her 90th birthday.

The limited run of Zebra Crossing's Asian premiere of hit Broadway musical VICTOR/VICTORIA at the Esplanade Theatre in Singapore will end on November 29, 2009. This production features music by Frank Wildhorn (Jekyll & Hyde, The Scarlet Pimpernel), lyrics by Tony Award-winner Don Black (Sunset Boulevard, Song and Dance), book by Ivan Menchell (The Cemetery Club, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang), and direction by Jeff Calhoun (Deaf West's Big River and Pippin, Grease!). Bonnie & Clyde will run November 10 - December 20, 2009 in the Playhouse's Mandell Weiss Theatre.

With 18 Academy Award nominations for Best Song (and one more nomination for the song score of 'Darling Lili,' written in collaboration with Mancini), Mercer remains one of the cinema's most honored songwriters. Such standards as Blues in the Night, I'm Old Fashioned, That Old Black Magic and Something's Gotta Give added immeasurably to the impact of the movies in which they were performed, not to mention the good will generated by Mercer's anthem to the movie business - Hooray for Hollywood.
