The RSC announces today that it will publish music and speeches from its forthcoming production of Richard II on a new CD and for download from iTunes. The recording will be the first in a series capturing some of the live and specially commissioned music composed for RSC productions of all Shakespeare's plays, as the Company works its way through the canon on stage over the next six years.

The Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) in collaboration with Picturehouse Entertainment just announced that Gregory Doran's production of William Shakespeare's RICHARD II with David Tennant will be the first broadcast of 'Live from Stratford-upon-Avon,' a program that will screen the RSC's productions from Shakespeare's home town around the world. Limited screenings will take place between December 3 2013 and January 2, 2014 in cities across the United States. Canadian dates and cities will be announced next week. Full casting is now confirmed for Gregory Doran's production of Richard II which plays in the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon from 10 October until 16 November before transferring into the Barbican Theatre London from 9 December for a seven week run.

This strictly limited engagement begins Wednesday April 10th and continues through May 4th only, at the Lucille Lortel Theater (121 Christopher Street, between Bleecker and Hudson Streets). Opening Night is set for Thursday April 18th. Hardy directs a company that features Daniel Davis, Laila Robins, and Derek Smith.

After an April premiere in New York City, the actors, musicians, and theatre artists from the world-renowned Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) will come to Columbus to perform an exclusive engagement of its production of Julius Caesar. Interpreted with a new twist by the RSC's new artistic director Gregory Doran, the production is set in present-day Africa with a cast of highly acclaimed, black British actors and live, contemporary West African music composed for the show by Akintayo Akinbode. The production opened to five-star reviews in the UK last year, going on to tour the UK and perform in Moscow before its two upcoming U.S. engagements.
