Allen Toussaint Returns to Joe's Pub Today

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, National Medal of Honor for the Arts recipient and GRAMMY Award-nominee Allen Toussaint returns to Joe's Pub at The Public today, October 6 at noon to celebrate the release of SONGBOOK (Rounder Records) featuring twenty five of Toussaint's songs captured on CD and DVD and originally recorded at Joe's Pub in 2009.

Gallo Center Presents Gordon Lightfoot Today

Singer-songwriter Gordon Lightfoot, whose career has spanned 50 years and produced numerous #1, Top 10 and Top 40 hits, including 'If You Could Read My Mind,' Carefree Highway' and 'The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald,' will appear at the Gallo Center for the Arts at 7:30 pm tonight, September 30.

Pacific Northwest Ballet Presents AIR TWYLA Tonight

Curtains up! AIR TWYLA propels Pacific Northwest Ballet into its new season with a trio of works by its first artist-in-residence, renowned choreographer Twyla Tharp. The program includes the world premiere of Waiting at the Station with a commissioned score by New Orleans music legend Allen Toussaint. Sharing the program with Waiting at the Station are the Scottish-inspired Brief Fling (a PNB premiere) and Tharp's homage to Ol' Blue Eyes and ballroom dance, the unforgettable Nine Sinatra Songs. AIR TWYLA runs for only seven performances, tonight, September 27 - October 6 at Seattle Center's Marion Oliver McCaw Hall.

Good Vibrations: Beach Boys Arrive at Freedom Hill, 8/2

The official Beach Boys (not to be confused with the currently touring trio of Beach Boy originals Brian Wilson, Al Jardine and David Marks) comes to Freedom Hill August 2. The official group is led by founding member Mike Love along with Bruce Johnston, who has been a member of The Beach Boys since 1965; also touring as the official group are Christian Love, Randell Kirsch, Tim Bonhomme, John Cowsill and Scott Totten.

Tonight, July 25th at The Cutting Room in New York City, a poignant glimpse into the life of Glen Campbell will be shared when James Keach, producer of the Oscar winning 'Walk the Line,' presents a clip from his forthcoming documentary on superstar Campbell, who recently announced his battle with Alzheimer's. Campbell's children, Ashley and Shannon Campbell, will open the evening with their band Victoria Ghost, and headliners The Young Presidents -featuring Mitch Kaneff and Jake Hertzog - will perform songs from their latest album. Joining them will be rock luminaries Ivan Neville, Anton Fig, Blondie Chaplin, Corey Glover, Adam Ezraand others.

Michael Feinstein Extends Contract with Pasadena POPS Through 2016

Pasadena Symphony Association President Diane Rankin and Chief Executive Officer Paul Jan Zdunek today announced the extension of Principal Pops Conductor Michael Feinstein's contract through 2016. His current contract was for a 1-year term, but fresh off the heels with rave reviews for his conducting debut to capacity crowds on June 1st, the leadership of the Pasadena Symphony Association immediately offered Feinstein a multi-year contract extension. The decision represents a confident commitment to Feinstein and support for his vision for the Pasadena POPS Summer Concert Series at the Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden.
