The Tony-nominated Best Musical NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT will get an Original Broadway Cast Recording on the Shout! Factory label to be distributed by Sony. The album will be recorded at Kaufman Astoria Studios in Long Island City, NY on May 20th and 21st. The release date will be announced soon. The album will be produced by six-time Grammy® nominee Robert Sher.

Join New York actor, singer, and musician Chuck Muckle at Cape May Stage's Robert Shackleton Playhouse for an evening of "music, laughs, and eccentric wit" as Muckle plays Oscar Levant in At Wit's End, by Joel Kimmel. Directed by June Prager, Levant's stories, music, fears, aspirations, struggles, and joys will be presented in a musical and comical performance on June 11th at 8 p.m. as part of Cape May Stage's acclaimed Monday night Second Stage Series.
Chicago's Grant Park Music Festival Kicks Off in July

Summer in Chicago continues this July with the Grant Park Music Festival, led by Artistic Director and Principal Conductor Carlos Kalmar and the Grammy Award-nominated Grant Park Orchestra, along with Chorus Director Christopher Bell and the Grant Park Chorus in the Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Chicago's Millennium Park. The Festival will bring performances by outstanding guest conductors and guest artists from around the world, in a month of exciting programming that includes a world premiere commission, a live concert screening of Frozen Planet, the latest hit series from BBC/Discovery Channel, a tribute concert to Broadway and Hollywood legend, Frank Loesser and other Festival favorites.
Riccardo Chailly and Stefano Bollani Release SOUNDS OF THE 30S, 5/22

Following the success of last year's recording of Gershwin's Piano Concerto and Rhapsody in Blue, conductor Riccardo Chailly and pianist Stefano Bollani return with an album of jazz-inspired classical works, including two world-premiere recordings. The album, which was recorded live at the Gewandhaus, Leipzig, will be released on May 22, 2012.

As the concluding concert of its 2011-12 season-Chamber Treasures Meet Chicago Jazz-The Orion Ensemble presents "All That Jazz!" featuring a world premiere by guest pianist Miguel de la Cerna, a Faure quartet and Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue. Performances are May 6 at Music Institute of Chicago's Nichols Concert Hall in Evanston, May 9 at Roosevelt University's Ganz Memorial Hall in Chicago and May 13 at Fox Valley Presbyterian Church in Geneva.

NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT is the new musical comedy directed and choreographed by three-time Tony Award-winner Kathleen Marshall (Anything Goes) featuring music and lyrics by George Gershwin and Ira Gershwin and a book by two-time Tony Award-winner Joe DiPietro (Memphis). Hershey Felder projects the persona of Leonard Bernstein and delves into the man behind the music, examining the musical and personal influences that shaped the great American composer/conductor. The musical selections begin and end with WEST SIDE STORY, and feature songs from his other Broadway shows (ON THE TOWN, CANDIDE), but provide a good balance with his classical, albeit lesser known, compositions.

The New York Youth Symphony's Jazz Band Classic concludes its tenth season on Wednesday, May 23, 2009, at 7:30pm with "Sounds From The City," featuring soloist Ann Hampton Callaway at The Allen Room at Jazz at Lincoln Center. Under the direction of Matt Holman, director, the group will perform songs from New York City with music by Duke Ellington, George Gershwin, and Frank Sinatra, as well as a big band salute to Broadway. The Adjacent Possible by Evan Weiss, commissioned through the New York Youth Symphony's acclaimed First Music program, will receive its world premiere.
