York Theatre Company's 45th Anniversary Season to Feature Lillias White in TEXAS IN PARIS, NY Premiere of HAROLD AND MAUDE & More

The York Theatre Company, dedicated to the development of new musicals and preserving musical gems from the past, celebrates major milestones with the announcement of its upcoming 2014-2015 season. The 45th Anniversary season will see the Off-Broadway premieres of two Main Stage productions: Texas in Paris starring Tony Award-winner Lillias White, and the highly anticipated Harold and Maude, an intimate musical. The acclaimed Musicals in Mufti series will present its 100th production, expanding to a two-week performance schedule for the musicals Big, A Time for Singing and Saturday Night; My Favorite Year will then play a one-week schedule. Special events include the 23rd Oscar Hammerstein Award Gala honoring Broadway's Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty, and York's ongoing schedule of developmental readings, labs and more at The York Theatre Company's home at Saint Peter's (Citicorp Building, entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue.)

York Theatre Company to Present Larry Gilbert Tribute THE GIFT OF MUSIC, 9/6-7

The York Theatre Company presents a special event, The Gift of Music, a father's legacy, a concert tribute to cantor and Broadway performer Larry Gilbert, written by Stephen Cole, directed by Pamela Hunt with music direction by Michael Rice. The cast features George Dvorsky, Marcie Henderson and Quinn Lemley. Two performances only on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, September 7, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. at The York Theatre Company's home at Saint Peter's (Citicorp Building, entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue.)

Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma today announced casting and production teams for its annual summer shows, featuring new and returning national talent, including Steve Blanchard, George Dvorsky, Dee Hoty, Victoria Huston-Elem, Meredith Inglesby, Amanda Lea LaVergne, Danny Rothman, Emily Skinner, Chuck Wagner, and more. All four productions- LES MISERABLES, DISNEY'S THE LITTLE MERMAID, MONTY PYTHON'S SPAMALOT, and A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC - will perform at the Civic Center Music Hall in Oklahoma City.

Mark Jason Williams' A MAN'S MAN to be Featured at Planet Connections Theatre Festivity, 5/17

Anne Berlin is pleased to present a reading of Mark Jason Williams' A Man's Man, directed by Valentina Fratti, May 17th at 1pm at The Paradise Factory as part of the Planet Connections Theatre Festivity. The Paradise Factory is located at 64 East 4th Street. A Man's Man is a powerful, timely new drama about three generations of men bound by family obligations and the unexpected revelations that force them to question the pressures of conventional stereotypes as they face loss and love.

Olney Theatre Center Presents THE GREAT AMERICAN SONGBOOK Tonight

Olney Theatre Center presents Broadway-veteran and Olney Theatre Center favorite George Dvorsky (Annie, The Sound of Music, How to Succeed...) in The Great American Songbook. The concert, which features songs from Broadway and film, will be held tonight, February 28 at 8pm. Dvorsky will be joined by Helen Hayes Award winners Sherri L. Edelen and Christopher Youstra.

Olney Theatre Center to Present HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING, 1/29-2/23

How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying, winner of nine Tony Awards including Best Musical with two successful Broadway revivals, will open Olney Theatre Center 76th Anniversary Season playing on the Mainstage January 29 - February 23, 2014. How to Succeed follows the rise of J. Pierrepont Finch, who climbs the corporate ladder from window washer to high-powered executive with the help of a little handbook called How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying. Based on the 1952 Shepherd Mead satire, How to Succeed features music and lyrics by Frank Loesser and book by Abe Burrows, Jack Weinstock, and Willie Gilbert. The New York Times says of How To Succeed, 'It stings mischievously and laughs uproariously […] It belongs to the blue chips among modern musicals.'

Jeremiah James Joins the Cast of Off-Broadway's THE FANTASTICKS Today

West End star and international recording artist Jeremiah James will be joining the cast of The Fantasticks, the world's longest running musical, on Tuesday, October 29th, just weeks after its milestone celebration of 20,000 performances in New York. Mr. James will assume the role of El Gallo, which was performed by George Dvorsky.

Olney Theatre Center Artistic Director Jason Loewith announced the company would revamp and expand its traditional subscription format while producing an ambitious slate of three seasons and nine productions for the Theatre's 2014 76th Season. Three "mini-seasons" will feature Rolling World Premieres, 20th century American classics, four extraordinary musicals, and an outdoor Shakespeare production beneath the stars.

It will be a homecoming when the original cast of the York Theatre Company's 2012 revival production of the classic Off-Broadway hit musical Closer Than Ever, with lyrics by Richard Maltby, Jr. and music by David Shire, featuring Jenn Colella,George Dvorsky, Christiane Noll and Sal Viviano, reunite for the official New York release of the new cast recording on the Jay Record Label.

CLOSER THAN EVER Cast to Reunite for Barnes & Noble Album Release & Performance, 9/20

The cast is set to perform selections from the 2-CD recording and will be joined by music director Andrew Gerle and Mr. Shire on Friday, September 20 at Barnes & Noble (150 East 86th Street, between Lexington and Third Avenues) beginning at 5:00 p.m. Priority seating will be available with purchase. This is a wristbanded event which will be available at the store starting at 9:00 a.m. on the day of the event. No reservations, other CD's, or memorabilia, please.
