The North Carolina Blumenthal Performing Arts Center and producers Thomas Schumacher of Disney Theatrical Productions and Cameron Mackintosh announced today that tickets for the long-awaited production of MARY POPPINS will go on sale to the public on April 23 at 10 a.m.

Today we continue our critical appraisal of the entire English-language recorded canon of Stephen Sondheim - at the very least, all the major productions which were recorded - beginning where we have left off with the round-ups of GYPSY and WEST SIDE STORY, as well as the 2009 Revival Recording of A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC, from the last few weeks. The last show for which Sondheim wrote lyrics-only, before he was quite able to get his own musical scores produced, was his collaboration with Richard Rodgers, DO I HEAR A WALTZ? Next, we continue with the first show for which he wrote music and lyrics, SATURDAY NIGHT, as well as the first show he wrote music and lyrics for that actually made it to Broadway, A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM.

Everyone's favorite nanny Mary Poppins is in town for a limited three week engagement. Produced by Cameron MackIntosh and Disney Theatrical Productions and part of the Broadway Across America series, Mary Poppins is in Cincinnati now through April 25th and it's sure to be a fun-filled family theater event.

Disney and Cameron Mackintosh's MARY POPPINS makes its much-anticipated premiere Sunday, April 11, 2010 at the Circus Theatre in Scheveningen, Holland, outside of Amsterdam. This marks the fifth major production of the title since it opened in London in 2004. Only three months after the Dutch opening, a sixth production opens in Melbourne, Australia in July 2010.

The Cincinnati premiere of MARY POPPINS opens tonight, Friday, April 9 at 8:00 p.m. at the Aronoff Center for a limited engagement of 3 weeks through Sunday, April 25, 2010. MARY POPPINS plays Tuesday through Friday evenings at 8:00 p.m., Saturday at 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. and Sunday at 1:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Great seats still available for most performances.

Caroline Sheen, who played Mary Poppins in the original UK tour of the hit show, is currently reprising her role as the pitch-perfect nanny. She is starring in the show's North American tour, which opened to rave reviews in Denver, CO. Original London and Broadway star, Gavin Lee, is reprising his role as Bert, the chimney sweep.

The Denver engagement of the MARY POPPINS NORTH AMERICAN TOUR opens tonight, Friday March 5 at 7:30pm at the Buell Theatre, performing for five weeks through Sunday, April 4.

Producers Cameron Mackintosh and Thomas Schumacher are pleased to announce full casting for the Atlanta engagement of MARY POPPINS. Atlanta's most eagerly anticipated stage production will begin performances at the Fox Theatre on Thursday, April 29 for a limited engagement of 3 weeks through Sunday, May 16. The opening night is Friday, April 30 at 8 p.m.

Producers Cameron Mackintosh and Thomas Schumacher are pleased to announce that Caroline Sheen will reprise the role of 'Mary Poppins' in the North American Tour of MARY POPPINS, after originating the title role in the critically acclaimed UK Tour. Sheen replaces Ashley Brown, who will play her final performance in Los Angeles at The Ahmanson Theatre on Sunday, February 7. Dick Van Dyke delighted theatergoers when he made a surprise cameo in the LA engagement of the MARY POPPINS NORTH AMERICAN TOUR on January 22. Van Dyke, 84, reprised his smaller film role, that of the crotchety bank president Mr. Dawes, in front of an ecstatic, sold out house at the Ahmanson Theater as part of a charity fundraiser.
