The Lion King North American touring company reunited in Cleveland on September 7, for the first time since the shutdown, to begin rehearsals for the tour’s relaunch. The tour is resuming performances at the KeyBank State Theatre for a two-week return engagement beginning Friday, October 1 and playing through Friday, October 15, 2021.

In a Broadway first, The Lion King will exclusively partner with TikTok to stream the production’s iconic opening number, “Circle Of Life,” on September 14 in celebration of the hit show’s return to the stage, 18 months after the shutdown of Broadway.

The festival has more than 425 in-person and online performances and events ranging from comedy, dance, kids' fringe, and multidisciplinary shows, to music, spoken word, theatre, and visual art & film.

The event will feature performances by Broadway's Amber Iman, Tony Award winner Gavin Creel, Sasha Allen, Jo Lampert, Obie Award winner Whitney White, Hoofer Award winner Ayodele Casel, and more.

The University of North Carolina School of the Arts has named dancer, choreographer, and educator Endalyn Taylor as its new dean of the School of Dance effective August 1. Three of Broadway’s most beloved shows, Hamilton, The Lion King and Wicked, will resume performances on Broadway Tuesday, September 14, 2021, it was announced today on ABC’s “Good Morning America.”

The Lion King will begin performances at the KeyBank State Theatre on Friday, October 1 for a limited engagement of 2 weeks (16 performances) through Friday, October 15. The opening night is Tuesday, October 5 at 7:30 PM.

Organizers of the KeyBank Rochester Fringe Festival announce that they are planning a hybrid experience for their tenth annual festival, featuring both safely enjoyed, in-person as well as online performances and events.

The Bronx Museum, Queens Museum, and the Brooklyn Museum hosted dance performances featuring Ayodele Casel, Amanda Castro, Anthony Morigerato, John Manzari, Anastasia Victory, and Senfu.
