Photo Flash: The Guthrie Celebrates Artistic Director Joe Dowling in New York

The Guthrie Theater held a cocktail party in New York City this week to celebrate Joe Dowling and his final season at the theater. He leaves in June 2015 after 20 years and as the longest Artistic Director in the theater's history. The party was held at the home of Frank and Frances Wilkinson, board members of the Guthrie Theater. BroadwayWorld has photos from the festivities below!

John Rando and Martha Clarke Win 2013-14 Joe A. Callaway Awards

The Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation (SDCF) announces this season's Joe A. Callaway Award winners for Direction and Choreography from more than 200 eligible productions in the 2013-2014 New York City theatre season. This year's awards will be presented to John Rando for his direction of The Heir Apparent, produced by Classic Stage Company, and Martha Clarke for her choreography of Cheri, produced by Signature Theatre.

Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation Announces 2014-15 Committee for Joe A. Callaway Award

Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation (SDCF) has announced the 2014-2015 Committee for the Joe A. Callaway Award, the only peer-given award for excellence in direction and choreography. The Committee, which will oversee the award for the theatre season, is Sue Lawless, William Martin, Barry McNabb, Leslie (Hoban) Blake, Linda Burson, Jonathan Cerullo, Edie Cowan, Clinton Turner Davis, John Going, Richard Hamburger, Bruce Heath, Michael Montel, DJ Salisbury, and Amy Saltz. Sue Lawless will serve as Committee Chair.

55th Dublin Theatre Festival Announces Programme Including 13 World Premieres, 25 September – 12 October

The 55th Dublin Theatre Festival will stage 27 world-class productions across 21 different venues in Dublin city and suburbs this September and October. Producer David Binder announces Leighton Meester ('Gossip Girl', Country Strong) will join Academy Award nominee and Golden Globe winner James Franco and Chris O'Dowd in Of Mice and Men, a new production directed by Tony Award winner Anna D. Shapiro.

MTC's Mandy Greenfield Named New Artistic Director of Williamstown Theatre Festival

Williamstown Theatre Festival has named Mandy Greenfield as its new Artistic Director, the Festival's Board Chair Matt Harris announced today. Greenfield, who is currently Artistic Producer at Manhattan Theatre Club, succeeds Jenny Gersten beginning September 2014. As previously announced, Gersten departs Williamstown Theatre Festival in January 2014 to become Executive Director of Friends of the Highline. Gersten will program the upcoming 2014 season, and Williamstown Theatre Festival Producer Stephen Kaus will oversee the season. Greenfield's tenure as Artistic Director will begin immediately following the 2014 season, the Festival's 60th.

Festival General Director Nigel Redden announced today the program for the 38th annual Spoleto Festival USA, taking place from May 23 - June 8, 2014. Held in Charleston, South Carolina the festival includes American premieres of the opera Facing Goya by Michael Nyman, the play My Cousin Rachel presented by Dublin's Gate Theatre company, and a new staging of John Adams' opera El Niño directed by John La Bouchardière. The Festival will also present the opera directorial debut of Garry Hynes, the first woman to win a Tony Award for directing a play on Broadway, in a production of Leoš Janá?ek's Kát'a Kabanová. Tickets are available to the general public on December 9 at spoletousa.org or by calling 843.579.3100.

The Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation (SDCF) proudly reveals this season's Joe A. Callaway Award winners for Direction and Choreography from more than 200 eligible productions in the 2012 - 2013 New York City theatre season. This year's awards will be presented to Ruben Santiago-Hudson for his direction of The Piano Lesson produced by Signature Theatre and Marlo Hunter for her choreography of Unlock'd produced by Prospect Theater Company. The winners join previous Joe A. Callaway Award Winners including Susan Stroman (1991), Harold Prince (1993), Julie Taymor (1996), Jack O'Brien (2001), Bartlett Sher (2002), Daniel Sullivan (2004), John Tiffany (2012) and Steven Hoggett (2012).
