Jennifer Leigh Warren to Sing Songs of Bassey; Richard Jay-Alexander Directs

Chris Isaacson in association with UPRIGHT CABARET announced the world premiere of Jennifer Leigh Warren starring in 'LITTLE WOMAN/BIG VOICE: The Songs of Dame Shirley Bassey,' which will make its Los Angeles debut in Spring 2011. Acclaimed Director Richard Jay-Alexander (Barbra Streisand, Bette Midler 'Kiss My Brass' Tour, Bernadette Peters) is at the helm.

Jack Black to Star in New iCarly Movie

Nickelodeon favorite and two-time Kids' Choice Awards host Jack Black reunites with his School of Rock co-star Miranda Cosgrove in a new hour-long iCarly television movie, 'iStart a Fan War,' premiering Friday, Nov. 19, at 8:00 p.m. (ET/PT). Black stars as 'Aspartamay,' Spencer's online video game rival who challenges him to lyrical duel in the Comic-Con-inspired special. Nickelodeon's iCarly ranks as the number-one live-action series on television with kids 2-11 and is the network's top show among kids 6-11 and tweens 9-14 year-to-date.

Pierrot Productions Presents CHESS at Kelsey 10/15-24

A chess game between international masters takes on larger meaning in the award-winning 1980s rock opera "Chess," coming to Mercer County College's Kelsey Theatre in October. Pierrot Productions presents this cult classic of love, loss and betrayal Fridays, Oct. 15 and 22 at 7:30 p.m.; Saturdays, Oct. 16 and 23 at 7:30 p.m.; and Sundays, Oct. 17 and 24 at 2 p.m. Kelsey Theatre is conveniently located on the college's West Windsor campus, 1200 Old Trenton Road. A reception with the cast and crew follows the opening performance on Oct. 15.

Freddie Mercury could sing anything...in any style, and that alone is an art to celebrate. After covering and loving his music for years, Ms. Ozard and musical director Joe Wicht are creating 'Somebody To Love: My Musical Tribute to Freddie Mercury.' Carly will be Queen for a day, paying homage to her idol, and sharing historic and interesting facts about Mercury's public and intimate lifestyle. Carly relates to Mercury's flair for theatrical and dramatic performing, incorporating his work into a night of fabulous cabaret.

Carly Ozard Performs Tribute To Freddie Mercury at The Rrazz Room at the Hotel Nikko 10/22-10/23

Critically-acclaimed musical theater singer and comedic cabaret artist Carly Ozard presents her new cabaret show Somebody to Love: My Musical Tribute To Freddie Mercury. Carly Ozard will be 'Queen For A Day', paying homage to her musical idol, and sharing historic and unknown facts about Mercury's public and personal lifestyle. Ms. Ozard new cabaret show will showcase popular songs from Queen's extensive repertoire, as well as perform solo work written by Freddie Mercury without Queen. Rare musical material and collaborations will be featured in this tribute to the rock tenor who flaunted his four-octave range, charmed his audiences, and lived his 45 years to the fullest. Ozard will be joined on stage by a three-piece combo along with special guest star Katya Smirnoff-Skyy. Musical Direction is by Joe Wicht. Somebody to Love: My Musical Tribute To Freddie Mercury will be performed for Two-Nights Only, Fri. & Sat. Sheldon Concert Hall Presents Victor Goines 11/13

Goines's career includes performances throughout the world, earning him acclaim from audiences, critics, students and colleagues. A native of New Orleans, Goines began playing clarinet at the age of eight, and continued his studies with Carl Blouin, Sr., who introduced him to the saxophone at St. Augustine High School. In 1980, he entered Loyola University in New Orleans where he studied clarinet and saxophone, receiving a Bachelor of Music Education Degree in 1984. As Goines's interest in jazz increased, he contacted Ellis Marsalis in 1983 to take private lessons and eight months later, Marsalis selected Goines to play saxophone as a member of his quartet.
