Each week Joe's Pub at The Public presents some of New York City's most eclectic programming ranging from world to classical, pop, singer-songwriter, jazz and more. At the center of Joe's Pub's genre-blind booking is The Public Theater's mission to bring world-class performance to New York City's diverse cultural community.

After a premiere concert with the Malmo Symphonic Orchestra in Sweden and an extended Los Angeles workshop production, JUNK: A Rock Opera will play a one-night-only concert at Joe's Pub, January 18 at 11:30pm starring some of Broadway's hottest rockers.

Epic Megalopolis Productions (New York/Los Angeles) will produce a concert reading of Swedish pop band Brainpool's new rock opera JUNK on November 17th and 19th at the National Opera Center in New York City. JUNK will be the first rock opera presented in the new recital hall opened by Opera America earlier this year, a venue dedicated to supporting the creation, presentation, and enjoyment of opera. STAGES ST. LOUIS announces this season's Theatre for Young Audience production. Disney's The Jungle Book will be presented June 20 through July 1 at the Skip Viragh Center for the Arts at Chaminade through a new partnership between STAGES ST. LOUIS and Chaminade College Preparatory School in St. Louis.

The musical adaptation of the 1967 animated feature film, THE JUNGLE BOOK, is a sheer delight, perhaps best viewed through the eyes of a child. And, the first production I ever took my young son to see was this same show a few years back. But, he was so small he didn't really remember it that well. So, the opportunity to see it again afforded me the perfect chance to reacquainted him with its many charms. Stages St. Louis's presentation didn't disappoint, providing a crisply paced production that fully captured my son's attention and imagination once again.
