Tenor Joshua Blue Wins 2017 Lyndon Woodside Oratorio-Solo Competition

The tenor Joshua Blue is the First Place winner of the Oratorio Society of New York (OSNY)'s 2017 Lyndon Woodside Oratorio-Solo Competition. The award was presented following a performance by eight finalists in Weill Recital Hall in Carnegie Hall on Saturday, April 8. The Oratorio-Solo Competition, the only competition to focus exclusively on oratorio singing and now in its 40th year. The full list of finalists and prizes is:

Our musical I Capture The Castle started its life several years ago on a suggestion from Teresa Howard, following up an idea from her daughter Frances. Teresa and I had recently completed our first collaboration, Possessed (a slightly folky/Gothic telling of the factual story of artist William Morris and his circle). We'd workshopped and showcased Possessed to general acclaim, but at the time struggled to take it further and give it a proper production. So we really just thought it was easier and more fun to start writing a new piece.

On April 27, 2007, Seth Bisen-Hersh produced, emceed and accompanied his first talent showcase at Don't Tell Mama.  Ten years later, he has produced, emceed and accompanied over 450 showcases.  To celebrate the showcase's tenth anniversary, Seth has invited the over 50 showcase alumni to return to the stage for 4 evenings of his songs for: Seth's 10th Anniversary Showcase Concerts!  

Skylight Theatre Company Opens the World Premiere of Louisa Hill's LORD OF THE UNDERWORLD'S HOME FOR UNWED MOTHERS

Quincy Tyler Bernstine to Star in Lynn Nottage's INTIMATE APPAREL at McCarter

McCarter Theatre Center closes the 2016-2017 Theater Series with a new production of Pulitzer Prize-winner Lynn Nottage's Intimate Apparel, a story of an African-American seamstress living in 1905 New York City pursuing her dreams of love and independence. Directed by Jade King Carroll, Intimate Apparel will run from May 5 to June 4.
