The Apollo Chorus Concludes 2014-15 Season with 'International Voices' Series This Weekend

The iconic Apollo Chorus, Chicago's oldest musical organization, concludes its sold out 2014-2015 season with the International Voices concert series, which will feature music from distant shores in a variety of captivating genres. Performances are tonight, May 1, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. at Fourth Presbyterian Church, 126 E. Chestnut St., and on Sunday, May 3, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at Elmhurst Christian Reformed Church, 149 W. Brush Hill Rd. in Elmhurst. Music Director Dr. Stephen Alltop will conduct.

Works by Whitacre & Part to Close LA Master Chorale Season, 5/16-17

The Los Angeles Master Chorale wraps its 51st season with a compelling program showcasing the boundless harmonic imaginations of American composer Eric Whitacre, a noted pioneer who has embraced the artistic potential of social media, and the music of Estonian "mystic minimalist" Arvo Part, celebrated for his beautifully sensuous and reflective chant-like compositions, on Saturday, May 16, 2 pm, and Sunday, May 17, 2015, at 7 pm, at Walt Disney Concert Hall.

The Theatre @ Boston Court presents My Barking Dog, by Eric Coble, directed by Michael Michetti. Opening night is Saturday, April 25, 2015 on the Main Stage at Boston Court Performing Arts Center, 70 North Mentor Avenue.

Choral Arts Philadelphia Presents BACH@7 Cantata Series

Choral Arts Philadelphia, in collaboration with the Bach Festival of Philadelphia, led by Artistic Director Matthew Glandorf, will continue presenting Bach@7 Cantata Series at St. Clement's Episcopal Church. In addition to the featured J.S. Bach Cantatas, the Spring 2015 series offer orchestral and choral works by Johannes Brahms, Heinrich Biber and Eric Whitacre. Special guest, Mezzo-Soprano Jacqueline Horner-Kwiatek (Anonymous 4) will appear in two solo Cantatas on April 8.

LA Master Chorale to Showcase World Premieres at Disney Hall, 3/8

The 110-member Los Angeles Master Chorale continues its vital role of expanding the choral music repertoire when Artistic Director Grant Gershon conducts two highly anticipated world premieres based on the theme of ascension by Swan Family Composer in Residence Shawn Kirchner and distinguished Korean-American composer Nackkum Paik on Sunday, March 8, 2015, 7 pm, at Walt Disney Concert Hall.

Kent Tritle's 2014-15 Season Features Verdi's REQUIEM, World Premieres with Musica Sacra and More

A performance of Verdi's Requiem that is a tripartite collaboration highlights the 2014-15 season of Kent Tritle, called 'New York's reigning choral conductor' by The New York Times. In an event emblematic of Kent's multiple roles in the city's choral life, he will conduct a performance of the massive work by the Oratorio Society of New York, of which he is Music Director, and the Symphony and Symphonic Chorus of the Manhattan School of Music, where he is Director of Choral Activities, in the grand space of the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, where he is Director of Cathedral Music and Organist -- with a new choral configuration that features the more-than-250 singers on risers in the cathedral's Great Choir space.
