1960 Concludes Burning Coal Theater's 2008/09 Season

Burning Coal Theatre Company, a small professional, theatre based in Raleigh, North Carolina will conclude its 2008/2009 season with the world premiere of 1960, written by Ian Finley and the Burning Coal Theatre Company, directed by Jerome Davis, Burning Coal's Artistic Director. The production runs April 9 - 26, 2009 at Meymandi Theatre at the Murphey School, 224 Polk Street, Raleigh, NC. Performances are April 9 - 11, 16 - 18 and 23 - 25 at 7:30 pm and April 12, 19 and 26 at 2 p.m. All performances are Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 pm and Sundays at 2 pm. All tickets are $20 or $15 (students, seniors 65+ and active military personnel). Thursday night tickets are $10 apiece accept for the opening night gala on April 9, which is $30. We also have $5 student rush tickets available 5 minutes before each performance. The first Sunday of the run, April 12th at 2 p.m. will be the 'Pay What You Can' performance. The first Saturday, April 11th at 7:30 p.m. will be audio described for the visually impaired. Riverspace Celebrates Director Mike Nichols On 3/6

Riverspace will roll out the red carpet and welcome celebrated director Mike Nichols on Friday, March 6 at 8:00 p.m. This rare appearance brings Mr. Nichols together with Riverspace Co-artistic Director Elliott Forrest for a fundraiser as part of the Conversation Series. U.S. Congressman Eliot Engel will introduce Nichols. One of the few distinguished artists to have won every major American award - an Oscar, Grammy, Emmy and Tony Award - Mike Nichols is a television, stage and film director, writer and producer. His career began as part of the incredibly influential 'Nichols and May' comedy team, with partner Elaine May. His illustrious film career began when he directed Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?. That was followed by the iconic film The Graduate for which he won an Oscar for Best Director. Some of Mr. Nichols' other film credits include Carnal Knowledge. Catch-22, Charlie Wilson's War, The Odd Couple and Silkwood; television credits include Angels in America and Wit and Broadway shows include Barefoot in the Park, Hurlyburly, Spamalot and The Gin Game.

Paul Anthony Stewart Stars In CRIME AND PUNISHMENT 2/27-3/22

Emmy-nominated Paul Anthony Stewart stars as Raskolnikov in a gripping 90-minute adaptation of Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment at The Cleveland Play House. In addition to numerous New York and regional theatre roles, Stewart, who was nominated for his recurring role on 'Guiding Light,' recently appeared on Broadway in the revivals of Fiddler on the Roof and Cyrano - The Musical. Performed with only three actors, the adaptation of Crime and Punishment by Marilyn Campbell and Cut Columbus is being helmed by the acclaimed director of the 2005 Play House production of I Am My Own Wife, Anders Cato. Crime and Punishment begins in the Drury Theatre at The Cleveland Play House on Friday, February 27 and runs through Sunday, March 22, 2009. Robert Mulligan, Hollywood Director Passes Away at 83

Variety had disclosed that Robert Mulligan director of the the classic film 'To Kill a Mockingbird,' died Saturday in Lyme, Conn., after a battle with heart disease. Mulligan was 83. Mulligan was nominated for an Oscar for 'Mockingbird,' the adaptation of Harper Lee's bestselling, Pulitzer Prize-winning novel. The 1962 film starred Gregory Peck, who won the best actor Oscar for his portrayal of Atticus Finch.

IRENA'S VOW Set For Broadway's Walter Kerr, Previews Begin March 10th
