As previously reported, previews will begin in March of 2012 in anticipation of an April 2012 opening and rehearsals begin in February of next year for the highly anticipated revival of EVITA, starring Ricky Martin and Elena Roger. According to a casting notice out today, the production is still in search of a 'Mistress' and will be holding open auditions (Equity and non Equity) on Friday, August 19, 2011.

Rehearsals are still just under a year away, but the casting work on the upcoming EVITA revival is heating up. Sources tell us that a number of Broadway's highest profile baritones will be auditioning for the show's creative team later this month, with a casting announcement expected shortly thereafter. We're told that almost every well-known baritone that you can think of (and then some!) have appointments to be seen by the creative team of the highly anticipated revival to potentially star opposite Ricky Martin and Elena Roger.

Ricky Martin was in Madrid over the weekend at a photocall to launch his new record 'MAS' at Me Hotel in Madrid. Martin will be touring in support of the album in the United States and worldwide before he hits Broadway in 2012 in EVITA.
