Yonder Window Theatre Company and Parity Productions have announced that writer/performer Romy Nordlinger's Places is among the selected performances for this year's East to Edinburgh at 59E59 Theaters (Val Day, Artistic Director; Brian Beirne, Managing Director). Places will play 6 performances in July before traveling to Edinburgh, Scotland for the 2017 Fringe Festival where it will have 25 performances over the month of August (4th - 27th).

Music Theatre Wichita opens its 2017 Season, "Hollywood to Broadway: A Summer Festival of Musical Theatre" with the 2002 Tony Award-winning Best Musical Thoroughly Modern Millie, playing June 14-18 in the Century II Concert Hall in downtown Wichita, KS. There's a brand new professional theater company in the theater-rich Twin Cities. Called Prime Productions, they've got a clear sense of mission: to present work with roles for women over 50, both on and off-stage. LITTLE WARS, by Steven Carl McCasland, imagines a dinner party that never happened. It's 1940 in France, just as that nation falls under Nazi occupation.

The nonprofit AT&T Performing Arts Center announced today that the Fran Lebowitz show has been rescheduled. Previously scheduled for two shows on March 31 and April 1, the show was canceled due to a malfunction of the fire suppression system in the Wyly Theatre. Author, journalist and social observer Fran Lebowitz will now appear for one night only at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 1 at the Winspear Opera House in the downtown Dallas Arts District. Moderator for the evening will be Michael Granberry, arts writer, The Dallas Morning News.

Fans of caricaturist Al Hirschfeld, who was well known for his black-and-white portraits of celebrities and Broadway stars, will be able to enjoy a unique exhibit of his work beginning May 23rd in the legendary Lobby Lounge of The Algonquin Hotel.
