City Theatre Announces Three Adventurous New Plays for the 2017-2018 Season

City Theatre Artistic Director Tracy Brigden has announced the first three plays of the 2017-18 season. The South Side company's 43rd season will kick off with a trio of adventurous Pittsburgh premieres, including The Old Man and The Old Moon by PigPen Theatre Company, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Gynecologic Oncology Unit at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center of New York City by Halley Feiffer,and the world premiere of Citizens Market by Cori Thomas. Also on the schedule is the original Late Nite Catechismas a limited-run City Event. Full season subscriptions are on sale now; three more plays will be announced in April.

BWW Review: U.S. Premiere of COOLATULLY at Solas Nua

In the American premiere Fiona Doyle's COOLATULLY, Kilian (David Mavricos)is stuck in the village of Coolatully and has few prospects. Once the powerful champion of the hurling team, Kilian has watched so many of his generation leave for opportunities abroad that the tiny town no longer has enough young people left to field a hurling team. The garda station is closed and the post office shuttered. When an opportunity to leave presents itself, Kilian must decide if there is enough to tie him to Coolatully when so much seems to indicate that he cannot afford to stay.

ESPN's The Undefeated Names the Inaugural Class of Rhoden Fellows

The Undefeated, ESPN's multiplatform initiative for sports, race and culture, has announced the inaugural class of Rhoden Fellows, the sports journalism internship program focused on identifying and training aspiring African American journalists from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).

HERE Presents Madcap Take on Iconic Film in CASABLANCABOX

HERE proudly presents CasablancaBox, a HERE Resident Artist Production, as part of its 2016-2017 producing season.  Written by Sara Farrington and directed by Reid Farrington, this original multi-media play will have 21 performances, in a premiere production, April 5 - 29 at HERE (145 Sixth Avenue, just below Spring Street).

Late Night Catechism Returns to the State Theatre for One Night Only

Late Nite Catechism, written by Vicki Quade and Maripat Donovan, made its debut May 28th, 1993 at the Live Bait Theatre in Chicago, Illinoisand since then has grossed over $100 million in box office receipts. It has been presented in over 400 cities around the world, has played 6 countries with over 3.5 million people in attendance. The show has raised over $4 million for retired Sisters and Catholic Organizations. For the first time in four years, Late Night Catechism returns to the State Theatre for ONE NIGHT ONLY.

Tim Curry and Jamie Donnelly join the cast of An Evening of Classic Broadway at L.A.'s live music venue, Rockwell Table and Stage in Los Feliz, on Monday, March 20th at 8PM. The critically-acclaimed concert series from Fraser Entertainment Group showcases a new line-up with each show. Headlined by Master of Ceremonies/Music Director Brad Ellis, of Glee and Forbidden Broadway fame, and featuring cabaret artist Dianne Fraser (Part Time Diva), broadwayworld.com calls the show, "… guaranteed fun, extra high on entertainment… Broadway standards both classic and contemporary, with a bevy of great singers on board."
