June is hopping and bopping as The Nash kicks off with a wide array of summer concerts and workshops.  Highlights include Joey Sellers Quartet on June 10 and Rachel Eckroth's Antelog on June 16.  Public performances from students participating in the Nash summer workshops will be held during the month as well as a discussion on history of jazz from noted ASU scholar, Dr. Chris Wells on June 18.

Gil Gutierrez renowned virtuoso guitarist and composer who's performed at prestigious music halls notably the Kennedy Center, Carnegie Hall and the Mexican Cultural Institute of the Mexican Embassy in Washington D.C will make his debut appearance at the legendary Jazz Standard in New York City on Wednesday, May 24th.

Coinciding with the centennial of pianist/composer Joe Bushkin's birth, the release on May 19 by trumpeter and singer Bob Merrill of 'Tell Me Your Troubles: Songs by Joe Bushkin, Vol. 1' (Accurate Records) celebrates the musical legacy of a man who was revered by many of America's foremost entertainers for his wizardry at the keyboard and skills as a tunesmith.

The Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra announced plans today for the 2017.18 Pops Season. The Minnesota Orchestra announces plans today for Sommerfest 2017, unveiling a celebratory summer festival in which the Orchestra salutes two of its artistic leaders: Doc Severinsen on his 90th birthday, and Sommerfest Artistic Director Andrew Litton, who has announced that this summer will mark his final season as the head of the festival. Running from July 3 to August 5, Minnesota Orchestra's summer season includes two tribute concerts to Pops Conductor Laureate Severinsen; performances by Litton and his friends André Watts, William Wolfram and New York City Ballet dancers; and culminates with the opera Litton has long wanted to conduct in Minnesota, Strauss' Salome. The summer season also involves the annual Symphony for the Cities concerts, two previously announced regular season programs and the return of the Minnesota Orchestra Fantasy Camp.

The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra (CSO) and the Cincinnati Pops announced highly-anticipated international tours to Asia in March of 2017 with six performances in Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai and Taiwan, as well as the CSO undertaking an extensive, eleven-concert tour across Europe over three weeks in August and September. The Orchestra will be on tour for five total weeks in 2017, performing in 12 cities across seven different countries.
