As Chicago's all-Latina theater company approaches its 12th anniversary and launches its new community arts center Luna Central in Chicago, it is expanding its national reach. Its upcoming world premiere of Los Angeles playwright Diane Rodriguez's, Obie award winner and TCG board member, new play LIVING LARGE IN A MINI KIND OF WAY is a comedy with immigration drama and universal issues about identity and privilege. Luna brings light to this exploration of the American Dream. Rodriguez will also direct the play.

Samuel Beckett's modern classic 'Waiting for Godot' opens March 21, 2012, at 8 p.m. and continues through April 22 at the Center Theatre Group/Mark Taper Forum. The cast includes prominent Beckett actors Alan Mandell (Estragon) and Barry McGovern (Vladimir), Academy Award-nominee James Cromwell (Pozzo), Hugo Armstrong (Lucky) and LJ Benet (Boy); the director is Michael Arabian. Philip Himberg Appointed Theatre Communications Group President

Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for theatre, announces new leadership of its board of directors and seven new members. Philip Himberg, producing artistic director of the Sundance Institute Theatre Program, will assume the position of board president. He succeeds Martha Lavey, artistic director of Steppenwolf, who concluded a two year term in June. He will be joined by returning vice president, James Bundy, artistic director, Yale Repertory Theatre and newly appointed vice president Rachel Kraft, executive director, Lookingglass Theatre Company. Roche Schulfer, executive director, Goodman Theatre will serve as treasurer and Olga Sanchez, artistic director, Miracle Theatre Group, will serve again as secretary. Lavey will remain on the board as immediate past President.

Theatre of NOTE Leads Industry Discussions for Hollywood Fringe Festival, 6/20-23

As a leader in the Los Angeles theatre community for 30 years, Theatre of NOTE will facilitate four special panel discussions during the 2nd Annual Hollywood Fringe Festival, June 20-23, 2011. Each panel discussion will be patterned after last year's successful forum and feature experts in the field exploring issues that impact the Los Angeles theatre community. Admission to the Theatre of NOTE panel discussions is Pay-What-You-Can and open to the public.

REDCAT (Roy and Edna Disney/CalArts Theater) announces preliminary program highlights for RADAR L.A., an international festival of contemporary theater running June 14-20. The festival is produced by REDCAT in collaboration with Center Theatre Group and The Public Theater's Under the Radar Festival (New York), and a consortium including Theatre Communications Group, the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs, LA Stage Alliance and the Los Angeles Theatre Center. $50 multi-event passes go on sale in April and will allow audiences to attend performances for as little as $10.
