Village Theatre is excited to announce its 2018-2019 Season with a collection of inspiring and magical shows. The lineup includes: The Noteworthy Life of Howard Barnes, a World Premiere musical comedy about an average man stuck in a musical world; Roald Dahl's Matilda the Musical, an award-winning musical that will feature a talented and local young cast and incredible visual stage-magic; I Do! I Do! a classic romantic musical about marriage; The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, a powerful show about a 15-year-old boy with a unique mind that is out to solve a mystery; and Million Dollar Quartet, the homegrown rocking hit that premiered on Village Theatre's stage 12 years ago.
The Royal Shakespeare Company's West End production of Matilda The Musical has announced that Sara Munday and Olivia Wells will join Lily-Mae Evans and Savannah Read in the title role of Matilda from 13 March 2018. Seen by over 7.7 million people across more than 60 cities worldwide, the multi award-winning production is now playing its seventh year in London, booking at the Cambridge Theatre until 10 February 2019.
The Royal Shakespeare Company's Matilda The Musical will return to the West Midlands in Summer 2018 at Birmingham Hippodrome (3 July - 8 September) as part of its major 2018/19 UK and Ireland Tour and accompanied by a specially devised education programme, Change My Story, for schools.
New casting announced for the new National Theatre season. Full cast has been announced for Brian Friel's Translations including Colin Morgan and Ciaran Hinds, part of the Travelex season with thousands of tickets available at £15. Eric Kofi Abrefa and Thalissa Teixeira join Vanessa Kirby in the cast of Julie, part of the Travelex season with thousands of tickets available at £15. Sam Mendes directs The Lehman Trilogy, a co-production with Neal Street Productions, cast includes Adam Godley, Ben Miles and Simon Russell Beale. Full casting is announced for the award winning An Octoroon by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, transferring to the National Theatre in a co-production with the Orange Tree Theatre. The NT will tour to 30 venues in 27 towns and cities across the UK and Ireland, for a total of 83 playing weeks over the next year. Rufus Norris' Macbeth to tour to 18 venues across the UK and Ireland from autumn 2018. War Horse returns to the National Theatre marking the centenary of Armistice Day.

Goodspeed Musicals is thrilled to announce three enticing productions planned for Chester, Conn. in 2018. First will be the inspiring You Are Here by Drama Desk Award nominees Bartram and Hill. This soaring musical will run May 18 - June 10. Next up will be a new musical adaptation of the enduring love story Cyrano. The West End production will continue to play at the Cambridge Theatre, where it is now in its seventh year and is booking until 10 February 2019.
Talks and events at the National Theatre start this year with The Jungle - exploring the issues on 6 January. The talk will explore the issues raised in the play as well as the refugee situation more widely with panel members from Good Chance Theatre directors Joe Robertson and Joe Murphy, Nico Stevens (COO, Help Refugees) and Lord Dubs (who sponsored an amendment to the Immigration Act which allows unaccompanied refugee children to settle in the UK).
Visit the alpine forest this winter as Pinocchio makes its world premiere at the National Theatre. On a quest to be truly alive, Pinocchio leaves Geppetto's workshop with Jiminy Cricket in tow. Their electrifying adventure takes them from alpine forests to Pleasure Island to the bottom of the ocean.
