The box office for the new Broadway musical, TOOTSIE, will open on Friday, February 8 at 10am at the Marquis Theatre (210 West 46th Street). The Marquis Theatre box office will be open Monday through Saturday from 10am to 8pm.  Beginning May 5, the box office will be open on Sundays from 12pm to 6pm.

For the second time in Encores! history-and to honor City Center's 75th Anniversary Season-the series is reviving one of its own revivals. A highlight of the second season of Encores! (1995) and featuring a memorable score by Irving Berlin and book by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse, Call Me Madam centers around a brassy ambassador to the fictional European nation of Lichtenberg. The show pokes fun at a far more polite and benign political world and includes standards such as 'It's a Lovely Day Today' and 'Something to Dance About,' along with Berlin's most famous counterpoint duet, 'You're Just in Love.' Directed by Casey Hushion with music direction by Encores! Music Director Rob Berman and choreography by Denis Jones, Call Me Madam will run for seven performances only February 6 through 10 at New York City Center.

Final casting for the Encores! production of Call Me Madam as part of City Center's 75th Anniversary Season has been announced. Jason Gotay (Kenneth Gibson), Darrell Hammond (Grand Duke Otto), and Randy Rainbow(Sebastian Sebastian), join the previously announced cast featuring Carmen Cusack, Ben Davis, Adam Heller, Carol Kane, Stanley Wayne Mathis, Brad Oscar, Michael Benjamin Washington, and Lauren Worsham.

As BroadwayWorld reported last week, Chasing Rainbows: The Road to Oz, a new Broadway-bound musical about the early life of Judy Garland, from her vaudeville sister act through her rise at MGM to win the role of Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, just had an industry presentation in New York City. The musical has reportedly earned the approval of one very important guest, Liza Minnelli. She told Deadline:

Paper Mill Playhouse presents Irving Berlin's Holiday Inn, based on the film from Universal Pictures, with music and lyrics by Irving Berlin, and book by Gordon Greenberg and Chad Hodge. Performances Wednesday, November 21, 2018, and will continue through Sunday, December 30, 2018, at Paper Mill Playhouse (22 Brookside Drive, Millburn, NJ).

Irving Berlin's Holiday Inn is dazzling audiences at Paper Mill Playhouse. Recently seen on Broadway, this brilliant musical has a book by Gordon Greenberg and Chad Hodge. The production enjoys superb direction by Mr. Greenberg, inspired choreographies by Denis Jones, vibrant musical direction by Shawn Gough, and the talents of a stellar cast.

Paper Mill Playhouse (Mark S. Hoebee-Producing Artistic Director), recipient of the Regional Theatre Tony Award, presents Irving Berlin's Holiday Inn, based on the film from Universal Pictures, with music and lyrics by Irving Berlin, and book by Gordon Greenberg and Chad Hodge.

With its abundance of classic tunes and tightly choreographed ensemble numbers, Irving Berlin's HOLIDAY INN is the perfect fit for the Marriott Theatre, a company that excels with dance-heavy shows in its intimate, in-the-round space. Denis Jones directs and choreographs a talented cast in this regional premiere of the 2016 Broadway musical (which Jones also choreographed). Based on the 1942 film featuring Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire, the stage adaptation makes some vital updates (most obviously, getting rid of a notorious blackface number), while capitalizing on the nostalgia of songs like 'White Christmas,' 'Happy Holiday,' 'Blue Skies,' and 'Cheek to Cheek.'
