Tony Ponturo, CEO of Ponturo Management Group and co-producer of the recently opened Broadway play LOMBARDI, will be inducted into the Broadcasting and Cable Hall of Fame at their annual banquet at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel Wednesday night, October 27.

American performing right organization Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI) celebrated Europe's premier songwriters, composers and music publishers tonight during its annual BMI London Awards. Guests filled London's Dorchester Hotel, Park Lane to toast the past year's most-performed songs on U.S. radio and television.

The opening of the 58th annual BMI Student Composer Awards competition was announced today by BMI President and CEO Del Bryant and BMI Foundation President Ralph N. Jackson.

Nine young classical composers, ranging in age from 17 to 26, have been named winners in the 57th Annual BMI Student Composer Awards. Newly appointed Awards Chair Ellen Taaffe Zwilich, BMI President & CEO Del Bryant and BMI Foundation President Ralph N. Jackson announced the decisions of the jury and presented the awards at a reception held May 15 at the Jumeirah Essex House Hotel in New York City.

BMI will name preeminent production and songwriting team Gamble & Huff BMI Icons at its 57th annual Pop Awards, slated for Tuesday, May 19 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Los Angeles. Hosted by BMI President & CEO Del Bryant and BMI Vice President & General Manager, Writer/Publisher Relations, Los Angeles, Barbara Cane, the invitation-only event will also honor the songwriters and publishers of the past year's most-performed pop songs in the United States. The evening's commendations will culminate with an all-star musical tribute to Gamble & Huff.
