Tickets on Sale for Chavkin & Mitchell's HADESTOWN Premiere at NYTW

New York Theatre Workshop (NYTW) announced today that tickets are now on sale for HADESTOWN, written by celebrated singer-songwriter Anais Mitchell and developed with and directed by the inventive two-time OBIE award-winning director Rachel Chavkin (Three Pianos; Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812) transforms Mitchell's 'phenomenal concept album' (Rolling Stone) into a bold new work for the stage.

A RAISIN IN THE SUN Coming to Coventry's Belgrade Theatre

Lorraine Hansberry's groundbreaking play, the first on Broadway written by a Black woman, will visit the Belgrade Theatre from Tues 22 - Sat 26 March in a new production directed by Eclipse Theatre's Dawn Walton. This intense family drama, written on the cusp of the civil rights era, sees the Younger family await the arrival of a cheque for a life changing $10,000. Driven to conflict as they encounter issues of inequality, housing and lack of opportunity that continue to resonate today, the play acts as a stark warning to anyone who measures happiness and personal worth in capital gain.

Philadelphia Young Playwrights Annual Monologue Festival Kicks Off 3/10

Philadelphia Young Playwrights once again gives 18 local high school students a chance to be heard as the 2016 Young Voices Monologue Festival winners will debut their work March 10-19 at the city's new home for new work, The Drake, 1512 Spruce Street. Last night (23 February 2016) at the Aldwych Theatre the Olivier, Tony and Grammy award-winning Beautiful - The Carole King Musical celebrated its first birthday in the West End.  Celebrations included marking the February birthdays of Carole King, Barry Mann and the late Gerry Goffin, as well as the 45th anniversary of when King's Grammy- award winning album Tapestry was released.  Check out the pics of the bash below!

3-D Theatricals and New Musicals Partner to Present a 'Concert Reading Series for New Musicals'

There's a new musical theatre partnership on the West Coast. 3D Theatricals of Orange County and New Musicals Inc. of North Hollywood are proud to announce their new co-presented Concert Reading Series for New Musicals. The inaugural season will consist of readings of three new musicals, presented at the 3D Theatricals Rehearsal Hall in Anaheim and at the Colony Theatre in Burbank, from March through June of 2016.
