Los Angeles-based band Brass Box have revealed their new single 'Bats.' The track premiered this week at Flood Magazine and will be on all streaming services this Friday. The song from the band's forthcoming LP The Cathedral out April 5 on Dune Alter. About the song Flood Magazine says, “'Bats,'” the new track off their upcoming debut full-length The Cathedral, Brass Box's ethereal goth-shoegaze style contends with death and darkness, as frontwoman Ammo Bankoff's wails keep time to reverberant strings and dramatic percussive beats. The whole thing sounds as if it were lost at sea, tossed about by moody waves beneath rolling claps of thunder.'

Designed to explore classical music's cutting-edge sounds and challenge traditional concert-going expectations, the evening features two works by Pintscher, Study II for Treatise on the Veil, a string trio inspired by painter Cy Twombly's art works, and Uriel, for cello and piano, the third part of his 'Profiles of Light' cycle. Also on the program are three-time Grammy Award-winning soprano Michelle DeYoung and LACO artists performing Ravel's Three Poemes de Stephane Mallarme; Berg's Four pieces for clarinet and piano; Grisey's surreal Stele for two percussionists and Xenakis's Rebonds A, a tour-de-force for solo percussion. SESSION includes a 'hang' with the artists, and premium tickets include parking and one drink as well. Mack Sennett Studios, where artists like Martin Scorsese, David Lynch, Lady Gaga, John Legend, Donna Summer and Jay-Z have performed, is a historic facility that serves as a soundstage, event space and a hub for a variety of cultural producers.

Sundance Institute will gather 20 celebrated and revered expert voices across film, art, culture and science to award feature-length and short films shown at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival with 12 prizes, announced at a ceremony February 2 that will be livestreamed at sundance.org and on YouTube. Short Film Awards will be announced at a separate ceremony on January 29 and will also be livestreamed. The Festival takes place January 24 through February 3 in Park City, Salt Lake City and Sundance, Utah.

ArtsEmerson will host the New England premiere of When Angels Fall, a riveting tale of flightless angels surviving in the wake of a global collapse.
