The 2011 edition of the annual Carols for a Cure album is now in the works. Produced by Rock-it Science Records and currently in it's thirteenth year, purchase of the album benefits Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. This highly anticipated annual holiday release features casts from the current Broadway line-up of shows performing new and traditional holiday music. Broadway's Carols for a Cure offers a 'snapshot' of each season, as the casts and orchestras from each show on Broadway perform their own holiday track. Yesterday, the cast of Billy Elliot stopped by the recording studio to contribute to the album. BroadwayWorld was there and brings you photo coverage below!

La Jolla Playhouse will present a reading of its commissioned musical Hands on a Hardbody, written by Pulitzer Prize-winner and 2011 Playhouse Gala Honoree Doug Wright (I Am My Own Wife), Amanda Green (High Fidelity) and Trey Anastasio of the popular band Phish. Directed by Neil Pepe (Speed-the-Plow) and choreographed by Benjamin Millipied (Black Swan), the Hands on a Hardbody reading will take place in New York on April 8th and 9th (by invitation).

Joshua Henry Returns to AMERICAN IDIOT; David Larsen, P.J. Griffith Join Cast

The producers of the critically acclaimed AMERICAN IDIOT announced today that original Broadway cast member and star of Scottsboro Boys Joshua Henry will return to the company on Tuesday, March 15 as 'Favorite Son.' Joining Henry is David Larsen (Billy Elliot) as 'Tunny' and P.J. Griffith (lead singer of the band Blue Movie) will play the role of 'St. Jimmy' from March 15-20 at the St. James Theatre, 246 West 44 Street.

The cast includes Caissie Levy (Sheila in HAIR, WICKED), David Larsen (BILLY ELLIOT, GOOD VIBRATIONS), Asmeret Ghebremichael (LEGALLY BLONDE, SPAMALOT), and recording artist and cast member of last year's cancelled GODSPELL, Celisse Henderson. Music and lyrics written by David Reiser, book by Jimmy Ray Bennett. WALKER IN BABYLON is produced by New Make Do and general managed by Martian Entertainment (ALTAR BOYZ, Broadway's upcoming BARE, THE TEMPERAMENTALS). The first presentation of WALKER took place in July '09 at the 45th Street Theatre.

Last night, January 24, the Tony-winning cast of Billy Elliot celebrated it's 500th performance on Broadway at the Glass House Tavern after the show with the Tony Award winning cast of Billy Elliot Celebrating were Gregory Jbara (Dad), Kate Hennig (Mrs. Wilkinson), Carole Shelley (Grandma), Will Chase (Tony), Trevor Braun and Jake Evan Schwencke (Michael) and Billys Michael Dameski, Alex Ko, Trent Kowalik, Liam Redhead and Dayton Tavares alongside their company.
