Australian cabaret artist KIM SMITH returns to Joe's Pub at the Public Theatre with 'MORPHIUM,' a dark and whimsical evocation of the decadence and decay of 1930's Europe. Singing in German, French, and English, Kim Smith reinterprets works by Weimar-era composers, and modern-day artists alike, from Mischa Spoliansky and the Supremes, to Kurt Weill and Kylie Minogue, as he charts a ruinous path through the arrivals and departures of a neo-Weimar, musical misfit. Jerry Steichen accompanies on piano, Christian Coulson directs.
One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest runs March 11th - May 9th at The Gift Theatre. The play is written by Dale Wasserman and based on the novel by Ken Kesey. The show is directed by Ensemble Member John Kelly Connolly, and assistant directed by Bridget Esterhuizen.
The Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs has announced the nominees for the 2010 24th Annual MAC Awards. The ceremony honoring the nominees, will take place on May 4, 2010 at B.B. King Blues Club & Grill, and will be hosted by Sharon McNight. Leslie Uggams will be honored for Lifetime Achievement, with Board of Directors Awards being presented to Peter Leavy and playbill.com. The event will begin at 7:30pm. Doors open at 6:00pm. Lennie Watts will direct the evening, with Tracy Stark musical directing.

Gretchen Reinhagen has announced that Saturday, May 1st at 7:30PM will be her final performance of 'Special Kaye: A Tribute to the Incomparable Kaye Ballard' at New York's Metropolitan Room (www.metropolitanroom.com). While she has chosen to end the successful run at the Metropolitan Room, Reinhagen has recently joined the client roster at RNM Representation (www.rnmrepresentation.com), under the direction of Robert Neal Marshall, and will continue to pursue future bookings of 'Special Kaye.'

Legendary singer-dancer-actress Mitzi Gaynor, star of such films as South Pacific, Les Girls, Anything Goes, and a longtime headliner in Las Vegas and the nightclub circuit, making her first NY night club appearance in years in May at Feinstein's at Loews Regency, will be honored with the Bob Harrington Lifetime Achievement Award. Elaine Stritch, the uniquely sensational actress and singer and star of stage, film, and TV, will be recognized in the category of Extraordinary Cabaret Artist, noting her recent conquests of the cabaret stage.
