Sundance Institute and The O2 announced today the programme of events and performances that will take place in the unique Cinema Café and Music Café spaces at the first-ever Sundance London film and music festival, 26-29 April at The O2.

It was 30 years ago this year that "The Color Purple," Alice Walker's novel, was originally published. It won the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award for fiction; it went on to be adapted into a film by Steven Spielberg. As a Broadway production-originally produced by Oprah Winfrey and Quincy Jones- the musical ran for two years and was nominated for 11 Tony Awards. The national tour of that Broadway play, "The Color Purple" comes to Three Stages at Folsom College for three performances next month.

Anticipation is building for Show Hope's third annual presentation of Rodgers and Hammerstein's classic musical Cinderella, Enchanted Edition, which takes to the Schermerhorn Symphony stage on Thursday, April 12, with Jessica Grove taking over the role of Cinderella previously played by Ally Mausey and Ryan Silverman as her Prince (the role played the first two years by Anthony Fedorov).
