Scottish writer, Irvine Welsh, the author of 'Trainspotting', claims a 'bleak dystopia' as a result of Trump's Presidency and Britain's Brexit vote.

Direct from London's West End, the award-winning smash hit sensation from FRINGE WORLD 2015 & 2016 is back with a brand new show, in a brand new Spiegeltent, in a brand new location, one week ahead of the official FRINGE WORLD Festival in a welcomed THIRD Perth season.

Following their hugely successful touring productions of Plastic Figurines and Chip Shop Chips, Manchester-based theatre company Box of Tricks will open their 2017 tour of Narvik, their critically acclaimed new play with songs, by award-winning playwright Lizzie Nunnery, at HOME between Tue 31 Jan - Sat 4 Feb 2017.

The Tricycle Theatre has announced a new series of 'In Conversation With' events, with all monies raised going towards the company's activities, including their extensive Creative Learning programme and the Tricycle's current Capital Development Project.

Creatives - a darkly comic pop opera with an original book by Irvine Welsh and Don De Grazia and a score including songs from some of the most popular rock bands of recent decades - reveals the desperation that fuels the passion to create. The score will include songs by Simple Minds, New Order, Iggy Pop, Oasis, Happy Mondays and others, along with original songs by Laurence Mark Wythe.

Delving into the murky history and contemporary reality of the garment industry, World Factory provokes a conversation about consumer capitalism and ethical trade in relation to China. The original production of World Factory was created and produced by METIS Projects in co-production with the New Wolsey Theatre, the Young Vic, and Company of Angels, and first performed at the New Wolsey Theatre and Young Vic in 2015.

Initial casting has been announced for Nottingham Playhouse's 40th anniversary production of Stephen Lowe's Touched, which runs at the theatre from February 17 to March 4, 2017.

Incredibly, it is over two decades since Irvine Welsh's cult classic, Trainspotting, landed on bookshelves and twenty years since Danny Boyle's film impacted on modern culture in a way rarely seen before.

Chotto Desh, Akram Khan Company's first piece of dance theater for family audiences, makes its NY Premiere at The New Victory Theater from November 4-13, 2016. Adapted from Khan's much-loved, autobiographical production, DESH (2014 Bessie Award for Outstanding Production, 2012 Olivier Award for Best New Dance Production), Chotto Desh includes a mix of Khan's original choreography alongside new material.

This Halloween, Riot Act will be presenting artistic director Whit Hertford's new take on Dracula. This nü-gothic play, Lunatic, examines the roots of psychotherapy through the secluded sessions between alienist Dr John Seward and his patient R.M. Renfield of Bram Stoker's classic novel.
