Six of the world's top drummers will be featured on DrumChannel.com's live, daily webcasts of Thomas Lang's 'Big Drum Bonanza' drum camp from July 2-6 at 5:30 PM (Pacific Time). World-renowned drummers, educators, authors and instructional DVD creators Mark Schulman (P!NK/Foreigner), Daniel Glass (Brian Setzer/Bette Midler) and Bruce Becker (Mike Stern/Ron Carter) will debut their first-ever drum camp July 18th - 20th at the Hilton Woodland Hills/Los Angeles located at 6360 Canoga Ave., Woodland Hills, CA. Produced by MUSO Entertainment, the Triple Threat 3-day drum camp offers a limited number of students the chance to play with and learn from three of the world's most experienced, educated and passionate drummers in an ultra-intensive, intimate classroom setting and a full day in the recording studio. At the camp each student plays along with the instructors on an individual practice drum kit allowing for an incredibly intense, hands-on educational experience that guarantees results. Each student will also receive playing time analysis in the Drumchannel.com recording studio.

At Birdland this past week, Jim Caruso's Cast Party was a jam-packed, sold-out crazy-quilt of talent. The weekly 'extreme' open mic night was the place to hear Broadway tunes, jazz standards, an Italian pop tune, a Beyonce hit, the blues, and a few original tunes that defied description. The Broadway at Birdland concert series celebrated a musical trifecta on Monday night, with sublime jazz vocalist Jane Monheit, extraordinary arrangements by Mary Ann McSweeney, and a wealth of Irving Berlin material. The stellar backup band for the evening evening included McSweeney on bass, Jim Ridl on piano, and Alvester Garnett on drums. Several months ago, the Monheit-McSweeney duo teamed up with a swinging take on Cole Porter's iconic score for Anything Goes, to great acclaim.
