Worlds and cultures collide between a sassy Queens nanny and an upper class Manhattan family when 'The Nanny' joins TV Land beginning Monday, August 2 at 6PM ET/PT. The network celebrates the arrival of the outspoken Fran Fine each weeknight from Monday, August 2nd through Friday, August 6th with star-studded mini-marathons featuring guest stars such as Roseanne Barr, Ray Romano, Jay Leno, Harry Hamlin, Joan Collins, Billy Ray Cyrus, Elizabeth Taylor and more. Plus, viewers will get the inside scoop on how Fran went from nanny to wife as TV Land features the highs and lows of Fran's romance with Broadway producer and boss, Maxwell Sheffield with romantic episodes on Saturday, August 7th from 12PM - 9PM and Sunday, August 8th from 12PM - 10PM ET/PT. Beginning August 9th, 'The Nanny' can be seen weeknights at 8:00PM ET/PT on TV Land.

Erik Altemus, currently appearing as Matt in the Off Broadway production of The Fantasticks, has been cast in the HBO pilot The Miraculous Year, written by John Logan (Red) and directed by Kathryn Bigelow (The Hurt Locker). Altemus will play Brandon, a dancer.

Deadline.com reports that Susan Sarandon has been cast in HBO's 'The Miraculous Year' pilot. The pilot is written by John Logan, directed by Kathryn Bigelow, and includes music by Adam Guettel. Sarandon will play Patty Atwood, a director/choreographer.

Yesterday, June 27, Lincoln Center Theater opened A. R. Gurney's new play, THE GRAND MANNER, directed by Mark Lamos, at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater (150 W. 65 Street). Kate Burton, Boyd Gaines, Bobby Steggert and Brenda Wehle comprise the four character cast of this world premiere production. BroadwayWorld was on hand for the opening night celebration.

Matt Cavenaugh, who recently appeared on Broadway as Tony in the revival of WEST SIDE STORY, has joined the cast of Stravinsky's L'HISTOIRE DU SOLDAT (A SOLDIERS TALE) as The Soldier, appearing with fellow Arkansas native Daniel Davis (Niles in 'The Nanny') as The Devil, and Philharmonic radio host, Alec Baldwin as The Narrator.

GPR Records, the new CD label specializing in Broadway, classical, spoken word and children's music, is sponsoring a poetry contest that will take place on Twitter, called TwItsPoetic, to celebrate National Poetry Month and the release of their first CD Poetic License: 100 Poems by 100 Performers.

The second week of the New York Philharmonic's The Russian Stravinsky: A Philharmonic Festival conducted by Valery Gergiev, will open with Mr. Gergiev leading the New York Philharmonic in Stravinsky's primitivist cantata Le Roi des étoiles along with two of Stravinsky's neo-classical works: the Violin Concerto, performed by Leonidas Kavakos, and the opera-oratorio Oedipus Rex, narrated by Jeremy Irons, with Anthony Dean Griffey in the title role, along with mezzo-soprano Waltraud Meier (Jocasta), basses Mikhail Petrenko and Ilya Bannik, and tenor Alexander Timchenko in their Philharmonic debuts, and the Mariinsky Theatre Chorus, Andrei Petrenko, Principal Chorus Master, and Natalie Domskaya, Principal Vocal Coach
